26/4/2016 09:10 | Is it the market sector or CPR specific?, looking at the recent statements from VCP and United Carpets it may be that small stores are thriving in a changing market. Headlam which is in the same market but as a distributer to small UK outlets reported like for like UK sales Up over 6% recently. The last time I bought anything at CPR was over 15 years ago, at one time it would always have been my first choice, not now. | essentialinvestor

24/4/2016 11:54 | Ennismore fund still has 1% short interest here, as well as I am sure of dozens of PIs with smaller amounts. If the results on Tuesday are as good as expected, there should be a short squeeze as people head for the exits. This is a good company, with an excellent board, exactly in the middle of a recovery plan which just started to bear long-term fruits. SP close to 52 week lows so plenty of upside, it was at 6£ just 9 months ago and the fundamentals have only improved since then. That's a 50% upside to get back to where it was. CEO and FD also bought 125k worth recently at 4£ before they enter the lockdown period where they can't buy ahead of results so they must κnow something we don't. Weak ££ must be helping our bottom line in International Sales which recently turned positive. They must now modestly contribute to profits. P.S In the wild chance these are ahead of expectations we could see sharp reratings. A long shot for sure but could happen. | blondeamon
23/4/2016 02:29 | The company specific text from that link: Carpetright has had a tougher time over the last year, as it focused on its more aggressive store closure programme - 27 stores were closed in the first half of the year. The group is trialling a new store concept in Clapham High Street, Reigate, Thurrock and Tunbridge Wells and, although there are pros and cons, all have performed well. Further roll-out should be detailed in the next results. The group has maintained its hold on a quarter of the market share but, as competition hots up, there will be opportunities to gain share from independents in the fragmented market. Deutsche Bank forecasts revenue of £466 million in the year to 30 April, with pre-tax profit of £17 million giving EPS of 18.36p. This puts the shares on a price/earnings multiple of 21 times at a share price of 392p. With a 525p representing 33% upside, analyst Warwick Okines says: "In our view valuation has now become attractive. The current enterprise value/sales ratio of 0.5x is virtually the lowest level on record, and yet we have increased confidence in margin expansion." | lauders
