Wad if the short position is the cause of the low share price which I believe it is then don't you think that whatever the shorters thought they knew 16 months ago would be apparent by now?

edmund, although all the numbers look good for Carillion, PE ratio, yield, dividend cover etc. I don't like the chart, momentum is an important factor for me.

7.5% yield , almost covered twice . The update suggests this is secure in at least the medium term , unless they are lieing /mistaken/ confused/ overoptimistic . Agree RC there remains some suspicion that this is too good to be true , but hard to see what.

Bought another 5k shares at 245p. No doudt they will have been loaned out by now ! This has got to break upwards one day and patience is required .

I thought the outlook was more cautious than normal, think that's responsible for the drop here.

Probably a good move RCT at the price you sold. But its a better risk/reward at this price, surely?

I sold mine a while back, I guess I could be called a "scared bull".

To me it feels like something is not right here, Carillion is one of the most shorted stocks on the LSE, despite all the apparent positive factors.

bmud, just the usual date. This year was May 12th, I see no reason for a big move in that date.

I looked on the Carillion website calendar. They do not give the dividend date for 2017.
Where did you see it published?

Added myself near 244p today. With around 13p dividend expected in May (XD date), and overall poor reasons for the short positions, this seems very good value and with the potential energy to spring up when the shorts unwind.

I paid 229p earlier in the year for a good sized (for me) holding and if the offer goes below that I will buy more.

Manipulated shares are great for investors as based on this update the results will be decent. Divi looks secure, so the game stops and shares resume upwards we'll be laughing. Top up time

At least they can't get borrow mine to short since mine are held in CREST not in a nominee company that enables the broker to just lend them out for a fee.

As someone who has watched this from the sidelines for over a year I guess I would say that the statement was pretty neutral and as such the shorts will not unwind.
If it breaks the 242 support and heads to the 220 line I would definitely be interested.

Added again at 244 . Selftrade couldn't fill the buy, had to try 3 times. One day the dam will burst upwards.

But share price always volatile in first 30 - 60 mins; perhaps not so marked as today though. And agree, share price disappointing.

Completely manipulated, sooner or later something will have to give though. The dividend flow is secure imo.

Yes from 264 at 8.02 to 247 a few minutes later.Anyone who doubts this stock is manipulated need look no further.

Up and down like a yoyo in the first minutes of trading this morning. Looks like a good battle between bulls and bears. I was almost in profit on my holding for a second or two. Ho hum... not today then.

At least the shorters will have to pay the dividend, and there's absolutely no evidence today that is in any way under threat.
