What is going on here ?

Bought into these in January at 149p; they looked to be undervalued, but far
from exciting.

Now at 230p and no news to account for this rise that i can see.Pretty uninspiring interims in June; some juggling of institutional holdings; a couple of re-iterated buy broker ratings;

I've got plenty of other 'undervalued' holdings; i wish i could figure out where this stock got it's Viagra from !

Great to see them reducing their inflation link with the freehold purchase and confident director buys.

However that debt pile is getting bigger. Its fortunate interest rates are not forecasted to rise too much in the short to medium term.

Impressive chunky trades - looks like someone with deep pockets doesn't want it to drop any further?

Yay! Was feeling like Charlton Heston (Will Smith) in The Omega Man (I am Legend)...

CTH is on my shopping list too.

No you're not GM! I was out @ 177 as I could see no reason to stay in at that price. I will get back in as news becomes available.

For the sake of completeness - have exited this morning - break even if I include the divi. Looks like its heading South - might be going to 126p or still a gap that needs closing at 111p. Pointless post as only I read this board!

DM

I did almost exactly the same and agree with your comments. Will wait for this to stabilse before going back in, or see a reason for this large fall.

Rode it up from 95p to 172p (give or take as about 5 tranches) this year. Meantime got paid dividend for the priviledge.

Its got lots of debt but its well run & generates lots of cash providing a quality care service. I had a target in mind of 215p when I bought but it clearly ran out of steam so I exited.

Bank facility has been re-negotiated, they are still growing & making more so I'm wanting some more of that lovely regular divi plus getting my 215p target!

Hmmm. Gap closed via someone dumping approx 1m shares this week (all being bought by Henderson Fund I'm guessing) Now what? 140p seems on the cards, but could it go sub £1 again before recovering????

Thanks guys. Had a worry it was 25%...

Goes ex-div 16th Jan worth 4.3p. Looking to get on board before then but I guess its all about the timing!

Henderson clearly happy to hoover up stock as it drifts down.

29.9% is the upper limit?, from memory.

Not holding CTH currently, they need to pay down debt and forget
about any further expansion over the next 2/3 years is my own view -
may be taken out before then.

I think that if they went above 30% they would have to make a bid for all the remaining shares under stock exchange rules. Below that it would depend on any internal limits that funds set which would almost certainly vary from fund to fund.
This is what I believe is the case but I am not a corporate lawyer!

Gap closing to 152p or something more serious...?

Also note that Henderson's stake is up to 23%. Anyone know what the max stake a fund can take? - As once they've hit that, they are obviously out of the market.

I agree Wiwaxy.

I had another look at CTH today and while Canaccord have downgraded from buy I think they will benefit in the mid to long term.

This was the most useful thing I saw:

Solid results imo. With moves afoot to increase financial transparency in the industry, and upcoming changes in NHS commissioning, with quality a main driver, I think these will do well.
