Post 585 confirmed (imo) Strip out goodwill and the old Campus Media group made an ongoing loss of £344K. No media company can survive for long at this rate of loss. So far as placing is concerned I must say I am surprised that the City bought into this one. Will stay on the side and comment again after the next set of results.

Weekend press (? Times Telegraph) had an article about about reverse takeover of Channel Fly fro ? £10M and Channel Fly are loss making. imo this could be an admission that supplying marketing and advertising services to target the student market is a broken platform - at least in terms of profitablity - You will have to make up your own mind about live music gigs but suggest you look at prior history. Adieu - farewell - over and out.

Plenty of mug punter shares out there mc but CPM look like a fairly reasonable punt to me. Management seem to know what they're doing and are confident enough. Room for organic growth. Mkt.cap at sub-£1m is undemanding imho. I'm just sitting back and letting them get on with it. PVL's latest insurance offerings are interesting and I hope CPM are involved.

looks that way jd. Price up again yesterday with the 3rd 100,000 buy. Could the directors be buying in at these prices?? Or just some mug punter. Still holding and waiting

Market cap now £668K. Had my last chance to break even prior to last tickdown but I'm giving CPM the benefit of the doubt and may even top up at some point on any further downside: *"a clear and substantial improvement... in every material area." *turnover from continuing operations was up 140% to £607K for year ending 31/7/04 with gross profit of £390K and there's been a "marked improvement in revenues" since year end. *"substantial quantities of new business" due to MMo2 and similar deals. *"prospects for the remainder of this financial year look extremely positive" *"further positive news for shareholders in future reports and announcements" anticipated. *having eliminated the significant costs associated with SBN, the gross and net margins of the group have also been substantially improved. Gross margin on continuing operations was 64.26% and they've improved on it! *note that total operating loss was £1,163,000 but some £452K of that was due to SBN. Also there was an exceptional charge of £107K due to its disposal. Apart from the bullish outlook, the fact that they did the promotional work on the recent launch of PVL's student insurance products without making an announcement about it suggests that they're getting down to business. The management obviously think that the current market cap doesn't reflect the true value of the company. I don't think the MM's do either otherwise why did they hike it up to 5.5p last Wednesday? The management are "determined to deliver an operating profit across the Group". Going by these figures I reckon they can do it. I also doubt that there's a need to raise more funds as they had £253K in cash at 31/7/04. I'd estimate turnover from 1 Aug to 31 Jan will be in the region of £400-£450K. So that's £653-703K in total. There's no way their operating costs have exceeded that amount. jd

Cheers dell. I did see the consolidated figure but wasn't sure. Still don't mind holding these until next Interims. If they do what they say they're gonna do should be OK. And anyway there's literally 100's of other companies on AIM whose mkt.cap is miles above their equity. CPM is not too bad by comparison.

jdhurry - 7 Jan'05 - 08:59 - 564 of 566 Maybe I'm missing something... c.19,104,204 shares in issue. Current market cap is £764,168 at 4p a share. Total equity shareholder's funds acc. to Company Balance Sheet: £871,000. JDH - You have shares in the group, not just the company, so you need to look at the consolidated balance sheet(Which takes into account intercompany loans/transactions etc.). Shareholder funds are therefore only £411k. If you take a cautious view and ignore the intangibles of £734k, then tangible shareholder assets are significantly negative.. Rgds dell P.S. OTOH, Booth was a good punt when they sold their lift business, giving them a good cash boost, but wasn't the remaining business struggling and making considerable losses?
