it fell heavily last year due to the credit crunch and the weak dollar

should bounce IMO as the dollar is strengthening:

Dollar Gains (dated today on Bloomberg):

``Oil is following the euro-dollar and that's keeping pressure to the downside,'' said Gerrit Zambo, an oil trader at BayernLB in Munich. ``There are worries about the economic situation with expectations of flat demand.''

The dollar headed for its biggest weekly gain against the yen in two months. The euro was on course for its fourth weekly decline, its worst losing streak since May 2007, after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said risks to economic growth are ``materializing,'' reducing expectations policy makers will raise interest rates. The euro fell to $1.5113, the lowest since Feb. 28.

higher volume today

on a normal day just a few, isolated trades of 500 units max.
so buys of 23k and 16k are noteworthy

suppose it would need a new holding in the company by a reputed institution to restore long-term confidence, ie that the fund will survive.

or some good figures about the nav

they were hit by the weak dollar (for a whole year)
but did take action IMO, in time, to re-distribute assets to non-dollar holdings

so who knows?

like the main market they need an upturn
before being in a position to sell and redistribute their portfolio

they're willing to 'bat on', at least

"We continue to believe that liquidating the Company's assets in the current market is not in the best interests of the Company."

up 9%

even smaller volume (500 shares)

suprime cash money from the Fed (yesterday) should IMO help the subrprime casualties (eg qwil, elep and clbr)
