Pity the board can't be paid in UAH ;-)



There was some stock screening site that had Cad in their top 10 for growth potential or something recently - that may have nudged a few.

But I still hope that the increase in volume is based on fundamentals rather than just a few traders chasing a chart/tipster,

What is interesting is that Cadogan are showing an interest in communicating with their shareholders recently. Today's RNS for example. Some would argue not necessary as most of the tax related info probably in the public domain anyway.

I also see Cantor have reiterated today:

Its a good question. There's some stuff about their 2014-16 work programme in there, but in terms of what they must drill, I guess would require some digging.

Strange approach by the Ukranian gvmnt. they are desperate to become independent from oil/gas imports so that make it less attractive for exploration and production.

I think the message is that tax has doubled on production, but it's not material to CAD because we don't produce very much.

Now is a good time to start new wells in Ukraine in order to benefit from the reduced tax rate that will apply for the first two years of the well's operation. It will only be 50% of whatever the standard rental rate is.

Although due to the new temporary 'war tax' it would seem to encourage choking back production from now until the 'war tax' ends on 31-12-2014. Which is the exact opposite signal it should be sending as Ukraine is likely to be approx. 5 billion Cubic Meters of gas short of its target to comfortably get through the heating season.

Don't think we'll see a share buyback. AGM resolution to allow one is getting more common, but few companies implement it. If they do, then they normally announce after they have bought in the market - not before.
