Good Lord! My balance column for CWC has just gone black - meaning I'm in profit.
I can't remember when (if ever) that last happened.
OK - It's April 1st, so perhaps I should calm down until tomorrow.

The Company confirms it has obtained approval for the Acquisition in Barbados from the Fair Trading Commission (FTC). CWC has agreed, as a condition for the approval, to divest the overlapping, duplicate elements of the combined fibre network in Barbados resulting from the Acquisition which we are confident will attract much interest and provide consumer choice in the island.

Completion of the Acquisition remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain other conditions, as set out in the circular to CWC shareholders dated 19 November 2014, including the receipt of approval from the Barbados Minister for Telecommunications and other relevant approvals.

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (CWC) announced on 6 November 2014 that it had agreed terms to purchase 100 per cent. of the equity of Columbus International Inc, a leading privately-owned fibre-based telecommunications and technology services provider operating in the Caribbean, Central America and the Andean region, for USD1.85bn (the "Acquisition").

The Company confirms it has obtained the necessary approval for the Acquisition in Trinidad and Tobago following its receipt of consent from the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT). Further to the consent, CWC has agreed to divest its 49 per cent. shareholding in TSTT within an appropriate period following completion of the Acquisition.

Completion of the Acquisition remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain other conditions, as set out in the circular to CWC shareholders dated 19 November 2014, including the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals in Barbados.

Ftse100 over 7k, ftse250 in breakout, and the sector weekly chart for cwc, talk, bt.a trending nicely up. Cwc led the sector run initially, now talk amd bt.a are holding the baton, but id expect cwc to follow suit. Massive vols in the auctions today i note, imo this might be funds buying as indices hitting key levels to induce further buying/confidence.

Ps haters always going to hate. :)

65.59p is a target point from 2010, but i think the run is strong and can surpass this point.

very strong On Balance Volume, MACD positive and now above the horizontal line, and last weeks rise was a breakout, as zoomed in below >>

I know the prrice has had a good run, but doesnt it now look like its in a new range with good upside to go?! Especially with the price chart tehnically breaking out at ~58.5p/sh, indicating the start possibly of further gains..... Why not the usual ~20pc above breakout, for ~ 70p..... The market seemingly is rerating CWC because of thr Columbus acquisition; I think this deal maybe the catalyst for a new bullish range.

I'm not selling until the previous CEO does as he spent £5mln of his own money buying shares in CWC his own company at an anverage share price in the mid 30ps.

Could not resist selling at 60.50 after seeing the share price top at 59.95,and then a lot of selling developed.So sold out.Only now yielding just over 4% Good luck to all investors.Put the proceeds into BEZ yielding minimum 7.5%,and could be as high as 10% next year

Top sliced leaving me 10,000 Shares owing me 35p.There seems to be some interest in fixed line at the moment.Was looking at KCOM when they dropped to below 80p.Should have purchased but did not want to sell CWC.

Actually, now i look at this in a bit more detail, i seethat the sector chart for fixed line telecommunications is looking very bullish. I have a position in TALK, and i trade BT.A regularly, and im now thinking perhaps the sector is being bought up with a view for a further surge yet. Ive decided to not sell tmrw and aim for ~66p then reassess; in terms of sector chart and TALK, etc.
