And a relatively large number of smallish bargains discretely marked on PLUS this afternoon - what you see here on ADVFN is only part of the picture.

Someone is imho coming on board and a big holder selling to let him in - I should think this was a matched bargain as otherwise the share price would have plummeted.

I too have a reasonable holding and watch the share price dive with a few sales - but also the upward trend. This is a 'clean' company with assets and imho more to its NAV - I could see the possibility of a radical move so watch his bb

How interesting - today we have yet another buyer of an odd amount of shares - I must have seen some ten or more such bargains over the past week - almost as though a retail broker was promoting this story to his client base. So, if any of you reading this board happen to be one of the recent buyers then please do tell us who is feeding you the BUY story and what exactly is his spin !
Incidentally I write as a relatively large holder of long standing, convinced as ever that there is real hidden value in this overlooked situation, although of course the marketability ( or rather the lack of ) is clearly a disincentive to new investors.

or just someone holding several thousand shares who knows that selling them all at once will send the price to rock bottom - there is no market in this family owned public company. All the garbage about distributing some of the asset sale benefit has resulted I a long silence. The agm is due soon - if we don't get some shareholder benefit from the huge amount of cash they have generated from Malta sale ( no great skill involved on that ) the core business loses constantly - I would sell up and get out of this investment.......

Strange dealings:

After months of no volume, a sole seller is presently plonking exactly 1,000 shares each day. Started 3 weeks ago.

Jobbers are now stuffed full, although a buyer @ 199p yesterday (the shop ?) did relieve them small.

The seller must be sitting on a block.

In normal circumstances, this would hardly be the shrewdest way of attracting a bid for a large holding.

Looks to me like a deliberate attempt to lower the price for some reason.

As I said at the time I sold out of these as soon as the disposal took place and it is looking like the right move - which is unusual for me. I have sometimes defended the board here but I think to have flagged over 4 years ago that a large sum of money would be coming and that consideration would be given to what was to be done " including a return" to shareholders" and then not say a thing for nearly 5 months is very shabby - it is not as if they didn't know exactly how much was coming in. If I was still a holder I would be getting very agitated! The email address you all need is Charlie Bailey - c.bailey@chbailey.onmicrosoft.com. I would be sending a few emails - good luck

BOD hope you are and should be following this bb and finding out what the few remaining outside sh's think of your company. Do something to improve shareholder value.

Dead right. I have rather more than you - want to get around £3 hence the delay. As I said in my previous post, and you re-iterate they could have
declared the div and/or return of capital immediately - not much planning there and as you also say shows little or no interest in the minority. GO Private I say....

Now Harrogate is out that only leaves two of the last of the mohicans - and I will go, (good riddance) as soon as the company decides what to do with the large cash hoard it has. Invest it in Bermuda or what!!!!! They have known for some time that this money was on its way, you would have thought that forward strategic planning was the least the BOD could have been considering, or perhaps they could have co-opted the long serving Mrs Bailey to head a board committee of one to consider it all wisely......

I don't know why anyone would think the family are going to suddenly change their spots, they've been screwing the rest of the shareholders for years. How much money is disappearing via Bermuda at the moment?

I never bothered with this despite the value as I don't think minority shareholders will ever see a penny of it.

A few shares are sold and the tiny tick up that the rns got soon turned into a sag in the price. What would happen if several thousand were up for sale - as I can see no future in this share? It is basically a family run 'private' business that has a public quote. A poor record of profit and apart from random benefits from property site value hikes, its investments managed in a subsidiary management company in Bermuda leave something to be desired. It should distribute its cash mountain as a return of capital, and then get on with its business so that shareholders can get out without the inevitable collapse in the share price when any appreciable amount is on offer.

Well I have just sold all my shares at £2.25 - I needed to create some gain this tax year and there is a demand for them at the moment so didn't want to be stuck with them for another 16 years! Good luck everyone and I will keep watching

They say it is better to travel hopefully than arrive - well we have now arrived and this is it. The question is at what level could the potential special dividend be set that would make the shares go up when we are told ( or down !) . As we all know we will get little of the cash and will be invested in a property and leisure company that we don't really understand with a small and struggling engineering group and some weird Bermuda investment arm that makes no money.

Don't think there is much to gain by sticking with this company - assets but no profits maybe some tea and crumpets but not really an investment. Still may hang on to find out what the company is going to do with the dosh.
