I think the mm got hit a bit on the way down so this is possibly clearing their books. The 5k buyer still there for the auction.....

Yes, another 5,000 marked and towards the top end of the quote.

Odd though as I cannot imagine the jobbers going short of 10,000 shares and there do not seem to be sales to match.

Possibly the jobber went short at 146.75p and bought them back at 146 today. But that would be an unusually slim turn for the jobber and would have left him short for two days.

So I'm wondering whether these trades are neutral "crosses" each time, ie. between one broker client and another ?

I could sniff further but I'm inclined to let the buyer carry one and see if we get a TR1 (aka "major shoreholding announcement") released at some stage soon.

Unlikely the jobbers would have bought 5,000 at that price, so must be a buy.

Interesting to note that the size of the buyer on the public limit board (aka "below the line") is also 5,000 shares.

So my guess is that the sole buyer of this stock got impatient for some reason, mopped up some jobber stock, and remains below the line at 140p to compete with the jobbers.

Another 30p and Sir William could get his money back. Come on CHB use your assets and let us see our money back.

Don't think Sir William can be so pleased to have his investment down £30,000 since then! Yes Harrogate, soon as it takes off - if it does - I am OFF

Just a reminder from happier days:

" Mr C Bailey has today sold 100,000 Ordinary 10p shares to Mr Reynolds and 28,000 to Sir William McAlpine at a price of £1.77 per share. Mr Reynolds and Sir William are directors of the Group and have expressed a wish to own shares in the Company to confirm their commitment and belief in the future of the Company." Dated: June 2012.

The purchaser of the rest of the site has until march 15 to get permission and complete the purchase. If they do the price goes back up and we sell ( I don't want to trust the money to the company since I am not sure they have proved they will spend it wisely ) all the rest about Mrs B & the investment returns issue you ask about is all old news and meaningless ..It all about Malta and the planning ..I suspect based on past experience the share price will tell us what is going on as we approach next year

Harrowgate. That is right - and we are still waiting for the planning permission -with no news from the company - when???
Callum I have raised the question if the late octogenarian Mrs Bailey's directorship which aids her finances by over £14,000. In a company whose aims and objectives have changed so much during her long directorship I have wondered at the extent and nature of her contribution.......also why it took £329,136 of finance costs to get an income of £55,562 or am I reading the accounts wrongly?

We all bought because of the value in Malta ... should know soon but not looking that good but it has gone down a lot on very very few sells so if news is good then it will go back up , we can sell and then forget about the whole thing ...bliss

What a pile of crud this is. Happens when you have board members appointed simply on basis of family succession rather than ability. Still, I suppose we all knew this when we bought in so can't complain.

and with a few sells the market plunges - and I still see that the Octogenerian Mrs Bailey appears to be still on the pay roll. With such a drop in profit cuts should be made. Shocking results is right. If Malta doe not come off this share is
for the birds.

Those results are pretty shocking and the economic situation in all the markets does not justify them. It really is all or nothing on Malta planning now, Fingers crossed

Without news that the companies assets have been vastly increased by the final Malta money and/or the revaluation of current assets this share will not go far north. But with luck it inevitably will. dyor

Anybody reckon the recent weakness could be related to the massacre in that Kenyan shopping centre? Is it putting off tourists. Different country to CH Bailey's tourist interests but just wondering whether tourism has been affected throughout the region by those dreadful events.

There we are chaps - ex div and down.......cheques in the post!!!!!!!
And now for the final sale when lots more dosh comes into the company hopefully.
Even if NAV and assets soar I will be interested in how much of that trickles down to the poor smallholders. Even if the company's assets rise, there is no market in the shares - no real base because of the huge family shareholding.
As you can see a few sales and down it goes. We may see some special dividends, but put 5,000 shares on the market and then see............
