As you say ...dividends, buyers, new directors, activity and maybe even a strategy. All good but have to hope if planning comes through that the special dividend is a very sizeable one. Happier with this investment than i have been for years !!

This board has gone very quiet ! Surprised that nobody has mentioned the receipt of their dividend - after all this is a fairly historic event, must be the first dividend that the Company has paid in 20 years ! Also surprised that nobody has commented on some of the trades that we have seen over the past few weeks - there certainly seems to be a fairly determined buyer out there, although there is also a seller operating ( the mysterious Mr. Allen ? ) and so the price is not responding to the buying pressure. Might be more sensible for the seller to withdraw for a while and then see what happens ! And of course one has to wonder why a determined buyer is operating right now ? Could it be that we are about to hear that planning permission has been granted over in Malta ? Or perhaps the town house there has been refurbished and sold on to rich Russians ( they are currently flooding into Malta ) at a handsome profit ? Or could it be that the new man is about to make his mark with an acquisition ? Now that really would signify that at long last the Bailey leopard has changed its spots !!!!

Ok..maybe I am wrong then. Just thought I knew the name from the share register a few years ago.

For what its worth, his TR1 declaration shows him as having no shareholding prior to the 3% purchase.

The same name, David Newlands, has also popped-up this week on the share register at likely "shell" Associated British Engineering (ASBE), this time with a 4% shareholding (increased from "in excess of 3%" previously).

There was a David Newlands who acted as Finance director with Arnold Weinstock at GEC who then took the helm of Tomkins PLC when Greg Hutchings left -same David Newlands, or too long ago to be connected ?

I am sure he has had a large holding for years ..I think he has just declared because he has realised that he is over 3% due to share reduction. I don't think he has just bought 3%

I am now in profit I think although have been holding for over 20 years!!
Inertia. With so much cash it looks as if they are headed for some real investment - perhaps in dealing with the Maltese buouyant market. Anyway I am holding to around £3 ?

It is very diffcult to know. This is the first time since I bought the shares 9 years ago that I have thought about anything other than the sale of the Malta site as being the end game. We still need the second Malta site sale but beyond that it looks to me as if they have palns to add further value. The new director bought a fair slug in the £1.70s so maybe there is scope to make more money here. ( or some money I should say since after 9 years I am now above my buy price but cost of holding has been huge.. maybe 60% loss) I still have no idea why they remain a quoted company though ...

Where do we go from here? Another 13 million when the Malta contract is completed with pp. £7m cash around with a little to go to the shareholders and the Malta town house up for sale when completed with another ? cash around. A depleted small shareholder base (the companies assets having been increased by buying back the shares thus putting any added value into the company pot) and still a few unvalued assets in Wales. Tanzania looking promising. Price on the market still constipated - this time because of very little buying pressure.........so harrogate?

I agree ..it is now difficult to work out what it is going to look like going forward but I think I might stay on for the ride !! The guys being appointed are no mugs ..both the director and the COO look like heavy hitters

Wot !!! Nobody going to comment on the 5p dividend ! And what about the appointment of P.R. advisors - now that really is a first for this Company. Change is in the air here, albeit slow.

They are but it doesn't stop them answering an email asking when the results will be, given they answered the first email on 17th August. Whatever it won't be long !!!

I only think their e-mails don't always get there as I have had difficulty.
I see no reason to worry - unless the news is that pp has been refused which in the light of the big developments going on re tourism in Malta is not likely.

All abit odd that is for sure. I got an email a month ago today saying results expected within 2 weeks and 2 further emails asking where they are have bene unanswered which is very unusual.

Report later than usual - not much to say in a tiny family co like this, so perhaps we are in for a good surprise.

Bit odd but they have already said there will be no consideration of a cash distribution to SH until the main Malta sale takes place which could be at least 2 years
