17/9/2015 11:13 | Early indicators now have BPTY has a buy and GVC as a strong sell - personally I would be loathed to sell GVC at the min, but that's what the indicators suggest. This of all can change by the minute... DYOR | hubshank
15/9/2015 08:25 | Arbitrage in full swing after close of play yesterday. Still in auction on opening this am. | gotnorolex
11/9/2015 07:49 | GVC director buys this am very good news for the merged group | nw99
10/9/2015 10:06 | The recent exit of some institutions holding BPTY due to new ownership by an AIM listed company, will come back with vigor when the (new share issue) enlarged entity re-enters the FTSE 250 bringing back old and new institutional investors. It's incumbent on them to hold a %age of stock making up the indices! | gotnorolex
10/9/2015 08:02 | Ex div this morning | nw99
09/9/2015 15:05 | Nice to see a little buying push, hope it's not just to beat the ex-divi date tomorrow! | gotnorolex
09/9/2015 12:22 | Found it Hubs, hidden in extra stock, as I elected to automatically reinvest divis! | gotnorolex
09/9/2015 12:04 | Gotno - I def got my May dividend, can only be error if you didn't get yours! | hubshank
09/9/2015 09:57 | Oh Sir Jasper, 888 times LMAO ! “Oh Sir Jasper do not touch me,” sings the coy maid in the first verse of the bawdy rugby ballad. “Oh Sir Jasper, do not touch” she sighs in the second verse; “Oh Sir Jasper do” is all she can manage by the fourth; and “Oh” by the last. 888, the betting business, seems to be singing from the same sheet. Days after losing rival Bwin.party to GVC, 888’s chairman Brian Mattingley, says: “888 is not a target”. GVC’s purchase of Bwin follows the pairing of Ladbrokes with Coral, and Betfair with Paddy Power as the gambling industry consolidates and arms itself against rising taxes, costs and regulation. 888 is beginning to look lonely. In February, 888’s owners spurned William Hill’s offer of 203p a share demanding £3. Shares in 888 are barely 165p now and the odds are that William Hill will come calling again. If so, the response from 888 this time is more likely to be a breathy “Oh, Sir Jasper”. | gotnorolex
09/9/2015 09:10 | Having reneged on their commitment to raise the required finance to back GVC's initial offer, how could Amaya reengage with GVC following 888's Bailout on the Bwin.party deal without offering a double premium! Seems were in an even stronger position now! They feel threatened by our strength in regulated NJ and see us as the gateway to bring PokerStars back to the USA. Dare I say it, but if only we can pinch a couple of 888's personnel who were instrumental in the rise-n-rise of 888Poker, we can make the iconic regulated network on which its own brand, and on the Borgata’s currently operated sites, occupy top spots! | gotnorolex
09/9/2015 08:33 | To those querying the Interim Dividend dates and amount. Look at the RNS from 28th August 2015. Div of 1.92p, going ex on 10th Sept 2015, payable on 9th Oct 2015 | mylands
08/9/2015 22:13 | Crookman 6558 - thanks for that. You are right in suggesting that I believe GVC is well run - but of course it will now be one company and I have a high degree of confidence that GVC management will turn the BPTY part of the business around. Turning to my investment - whilst I believe sitting in BPTY is the best place for my money for the arbitrage reasons we have debated.... I do not see it as a short term play. | melody9999
08/9/2015 20:43 | So what does happen to all the cash? Does it get transferred to Gvc? If so along with cost savings, Gvc are going a long way to pay off loan! | hubshank
08/9/2015 15:02 | The ex div date of September, which has been widely reported, is only 5 months after the ex div date of 23rd April, and not the usual 6. My point being, that GVC must want to have all the dividend payment out of the way with a view to the M&A taking place by mid to end October. This would fall in line with the normal 6-8 weeks for an acquisition to take place. That being the case, we will get our new shares and cash in a much better time frame than should the deal have gone ahead with 888. :-) | hubshank
08/9/2015 14:47 | Hubs I don't recall having received a divi in May. I just checked with my Brokers and they confirm ex-date is the 10th Sep for sure with pay date 9th Oct. Well, will have to check where my last divi went! Just found this.......... Dividends Final Ex-Dividend Date 23-Apr-2015 Final Dividend Payment Date 27-May-2015 Interim Ex-Dividend Date 10-Sep-2015 Interim Dividend Payment Date 09-Oct-2015 | gotnorolex
08/9/2015 14:46 | Director buys are really helping | nw99
08/9/2015 14:20 | The dividend has been brought forward. April ex div date was 24th pay date May. One would therefore assume to count 6 months on, ex div date would be 24th Oct, pay date November. This suggests to me that they hope to have it all completed in the standard 6-8 week time scale: non of this waiting until January nonsense that 888 were looking for! | hubshank
08/9/2015 13:39 | I found that article too Frankie, very interesting. Should they sell to Amya, would we have to take cash, or would we be offered shares? And how quickly would it all happen. Article alludes to immediately, however I don't think one should believe everything a journalist scribes! I wouldn't however mind the shares though as AYA meant to be undervalued - well this year anyway. Not really been keeping up to speed with the wrongdoings of the directors! Have you? | hubshank
08/9/2015 13:29 | It's all going on! | hubshank
08/9/2015 10:56 | Well there's confidence for you - your company agrees to get taken over and you stump up over £50k to buy more shares. Nice to see he paid more than my 103p though lol. | jeff h
08/9/2015 09:08 | Ex-date H1 Dividend 10 Sep 2015 Pay-date 09 Oct 2015 of 1.89p | gotnorolex
08/9/2015 09:04 | Thanks for explaining your position Melody, and yes as an arbitrage play what you’re doing is correct, as you say not the time to sell BPTY at all, just a risk to buy in with new money right now with still some uncertainty flying around. You’ve gone from a well run company in GVC to a bit of a car crash over the years in BPTY which tends to make us BPTY’ers a bit jaded. The very best of luck to you and everyone else involved in this, it still seems like the market is not all together convinced by this deal yet. | crookman
08/9/2015 08:52 | Melody agreed sold GVC at large profit and Bought BPTY long term winner | nw99 |
