28/1/2006 20:31 | Interesting to see 3 sell recs following profit warning, but more significantly 1 outperform rec. Time will tell on this one. My instinct is to hold on (average price of holdings 370p), as underlying business still sound and it appears the new management wanted to get all the bad news out in one go. | selftaught
27/1/2006 18:25 | Conference call this morning sounded generally upbeat.FEDEX negotiations ongoing but will not know outcome till March. | ken50
27/1/2006 10:22 | Oh well, there's the profit warning. However, a more muted effect on the share price this time. Have to concede that my 228p prediction is looking a tad unlikely! | scumdog
27/1/2006 08:35 | Oh dear bought in at 409 yesterady (£10,000) worth. Sti,, Fidelity also bought in recently. Seems to be bouncing back quite well, in any case. | maris
27/1/2006 08:31 | oh dear, glad i sold out at 3.85 a couple of weeks ago | meshiey
26/1/2006 15:47 | No Lord, The BB is quiet and better stays this way! Have been climbing slowly yet steadily from 330 and the break above 400 is significant. | nabeel4975
25/1/2006 15:45 | Nabeel Any reason why your post was removed? | lord r
18/1/2006 13:51 | Nabeel Much better with a spread bet than a CFD if they will do one for the Co's current market valuation. | lord r
10/1/2006 21:34 | lol Nabeel - good stuff! Actually, I nearly bought BPG around the 670p mark at the beginning of 2005. However, what stopped me was the high expectations built into the share price as evidenced by its high PE ratio of around 30, if I remember correctly. It recovered well from a drift but was then hit by 2 profit warnings. IMO the company's mkt value isn't overpriced at 400p but I'd like to see evidence that trading hasn't deteriorated further. I fancy the share price has recovered mainly on bid hopes. Admittedly, those who bought at the 310-320p mark are already making a nice profit, and I hope that includes you. | scumdog
10/1/2006 11:53 | Continuous buying today and I could not resist joining the 2500 share buying spree so bought 2500 shares myself (at 375). One of those is mine! just one :-( Scumdog, Keep that psychiatrist number handy, I may need a visit very soon.... soon, moon, loon, joon.... Oh, pass it on! | nabeel4975
10/1/2006 09:44 | Fair points Nabeel. Tough luck with your CFD. Sounds a bit unfair to me. | scumdog
09/1/2006 12:21 | Scumdog, Just phoned him and he said "No"! What I meant is: you can not assume future events and put valuation accordingly; "profit warnings always come in three" is not written on stone tablets, you know. I expect a bid at £6 so my valuation is £6; You expect a profit warning so your valuation is £2.28! this is just a speculation and expectation not valuation. By the way, I was thrown out of £100 pp CFD position by CMC at 339 on 2 Jan 06 even though the market was closed! As it was evicted from the FTSE250 they stopped dealing in it and closed all position on market close price. They lost me about £4K of profit :-( Anybody else was affected? | nabeel4975
09/1/2006 10:02 | Nabeel4975 "Are you insane?" You'd better ask my psychiatrist that! | scumdog
09/1/2006 06:46 | THE DAILY EXPRESS "Bid talk delivers Business Post rise..." | nabeel4975
09/1/2006 06:42 | Daily Mail 06 Jan 2006 Business Post Investors Wait for Special Delivery ONE company definitely glad to see the back of 2005 is Business Post. The UK's fourth largest mail operator delivered three profit warnings during a traumatic year which ended with chief executive Paul Carvell's resignation to 'pursue other opportunities'. He was replaced by Guy Buswell, former managing director of its UK Mail business. Shareholders have watched the shares shredded from a peak of £7 down to £3 and have been dreaming ever since about a cash-rich predator soon putting the group out of its misery. If rumours in the marketplace prove correct, their prayers could soon be answered. Talk that brothers Peter and Michael Kane, who dominate the board, have been approached to name a price for their 37pc majority stake helped the stock jump 25 1/2p to 368p. Dealers reckon the Kanes would want at least £5 a share for their holding currently worth around £78m and cited FedEx of the US and Dutch courier TNT as possible buyers. Business Post already has a big contract with FedEx, which is due to be renewed at the end of March. Business Post is a competitor to the Royal Mail in the fast deregulating postal market. The cost of sending many letters and packages could treble under the biggest shake-up in Britain's postal service for more than 165 years. People will have to think about size, not just the weight of their post. | nabeel4975
09/1/2006 03:38 | Sorry could not stop myself from laughing, a valuation of £2.28! How could you put a valuation of a company based on your expectation of a third profit warning. Are you insane? With the recent changes for mail, I would comfortably multiply your imaginary valuation by two. I have expected a steady rise from 330P area starting in the new year, so far so good, although I prefer a slower rise. | nabeel4975
08/1/2006 03:32 | Naturally, as I'm expecting another profits warning. | scumdog
07/1/2006 10:34 | Scumdog Do you still stand by your £2.28 valuation on 25.11.05? | lord r
06/1/2006 15:42 | hmmm.... people topping up cos they consider a bid to be on it's way? | meshiey
06/1/2006 13:42 | Provide a damn fine service. My mobile phone was delivered well into the evening rather than left to the next day like some couriers we won't speak of. | maris
06/1/2006 09:03 | MBO? 460p ought to do it, kane family have a large one | saltedcrab |
