BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN) said Friday that it has agreed with Sky PLC (SKY.LN) for the two to provide packages of their TV channels on each other's platforms.

BT said it has agreed a multi-year agency deal to market and sell Sky's NOW TV service to its customers, including Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky Atlantic.

21st Century Fox owns a 39% stake in Sky. 21st Century Fox and News Corp, parent company of Dow Jones, share common ownership.

The full NOW service will be available on BT TV's set-top box, and BT will be able to sell subscriptions directly to its customers.

BT also said it has agreed to wholesale its sport channels to Sky, allowing them to be sold directly to Sky satellite customers. The deal will include exclusive live Uefa Champions League and Premier League football.

BT Chief Executive Gavin Patterson said the agreement is the result of negotiations over a number of years, and is the next logical step for BT's TV and content strategy.

BT added that the deal demonstrates the importance of sport as a key offering to its customers, offering its customers all eleven Sky Sports channels for the first time. The new services are expected to be available to customers of both companies from early 2019.
