The DOW has been up and down since London's close and probably took BT ADRs with it. Also cable is moving around too. Your only probably talking a penny or so

Thanks ianood that's exactly how I saw it, but they don't tie up?

Pace FYI

An American Depositary Share (ADS) is a security which has been created to permit investors in the US to hold shares in non-US companies and trade them on the stock exchanges in the US. Like many other British companies, BT shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of ADSs. Each BT ADS is equivalent to 5 ordinary shares.

Thus ADR price divided by 5 and divided by cable is

US 20.19 / 5 = USD 4.04 / 1.2800 = £3.15625

Trading the basis between London and US is called arbitrage.

Sorry pace, your question is too difficult for me to even attempt to answer, is it relevant to the broker manipulation here, coz if it is I'll get myself genned up over the weekend!

Question guys...
Shouldn't ADR equal BTa x 5 at current exchange rate? And.vice versa?
And why doesn't it?

Thanks for that, Dr Biotech, I hadn't seen it.

The whole article seems to have been written a couple of years ago, even down to the picture of Joe Garner, who hasn't even worked for BT for the past 18 months.

I don't ever read a lot into brokers reports, but their view is as valid as anyone's

Let's hope so, kitbag. I've been quite encouraged by the price lately and the strength running into the close of day, even yesterday.

I've still not seen this Parisbas downgrade, as it's not published on the site's I use?

If it can stay above 3.12 then there is a chance for a retest at 3.40. Fingers crossed.

Don't take a lot of notice of broker forecasts. The share didn't jump up a £1 when Barclays recently put a value on BT of £4.50 with an outperform forecast. As you say just an excuse for someone wanting in cheaper. About time though that BT came out with some good news and got this stock well away from the £3 odd level.
