Sometimes you have to on on gut feeling, initially looked not great but looking into this a bit more you realize it could be a great entry point, especially if you are looking to hold long term

Added at 315 ; my punt is that it has just bottomed. And if not , then it will rise again. This is a big company ; one scandal is not enough to floor it.

Shares have retraced almost 40% from 1 year high, quite a bit of bad news seems to be factored in, wonder if this is a decent buying opp?

It's not just Italy, it's the downturn in business that worries me. To me in my opinion this is a disguised profit warning.

Pearson have issued five profit warnings in four years, but I get your point. For those wanting GP to fall on his sword, John Fallon at Pearson has overseen all five.....

If profit warnings come in threes, could those who posted this please supply examples and explain why BT should be a further example?

Thought not...

Is Italy such a big thing in the overall picture, multi national blue chip play, good cash earner, divi is around 4%+ I think, should be safe. Should blow over in a few weeks, buy when others are fearful, seems to work well for most, as long as you are not expecting short term profits.

If the divi was just held for the next 2 years that would be a result imv,
a fat yield at the current share price on a held dividend.

Listening to CNBC, even at a yield right now of 10%, they could the dividend to yield 6%, right now that would still be a good payout at the current price, if you are in why sell now, for new investors this could be a steal!

Market euphoria is somehow connected with accounting irregularities...Tesco mark2...

It is not a profits warning per se, it is the discovery of an accounting irregularity based on over-stating profits, but they are kitchen sinking the job!
