20/7/2004 10:26 | On the most pessimistic view this fall through 75.50 has the potential to drop further to a support target of 63. | churchtower
24/5/2004 13:37 | Talk in the IC about the need to raise finance if the business is to expand. Share placement due? Not good news, at least in the short term, for shareholders. | dumpling
22/4/2004 07:47 | Looks a trading buy today ....also a longer term buy but a quick profit can't be sniffed at. | banovallum
19/4/2004 15:58 | Down 3P since my last message. I do feel more optimistic now and think 90p is about to be tested. | dumpling
08/3/2004 17:52 | I do think we've seen the best for the moment, dumpling. | diogenesj
08/3/2004 16:20 | Share placements are rife at the moment and that combined with lower margins makes them a HOLD in my book. | dumpling
08/3/2004 15:01 | Good results indeed (they needed to be good, really, to justify the current price, and they were). Eps were a little better than forecast, but the dividend increase was a little less. There is also the implication in the chairman's remarks that additional capital will be required in due course (suggesting a placing or rights issue). | diogenesj

08/3/2004 08:39 | A bit of upward movement this morning at last. Perhaps Mr Burns should leave the country more often ! | howliwilf
02/2/2004 13:09 | This is becoming a traders' share. | dumpling
30/1/2004 14:57 | Nice rise up today - anyone any ideas/news ? | bz4f8c
29/1/2004 16:36 | Half of HCU's business is with DFS, so I am informed. With so many eggs in that particular basket they need to be cheap. | dumpling
29/1/2004 10:06 | Don't think debt is really a factor, wipo: it's a finance company, and borrows money to lend to customers. The only question is whether they can make a turn on the borrowed money, which I think they can. Could be a "tree shake" (if you believe in these things) or it could just be that some people took advantage of the Robbie Burns tip to sell. Either way, looks good value again after the drop. HCU also looks good value and has done for a long time - I'm not quite sure why it is so cheap (perhaps the fact that Hitachi owns 65%). HCU's gearing is 879%. | diogenesj
28/1/2004 23:16 | I recently put on me watch list, hard to tell whether its a MM tree shake or the stock is overbought? It has had a good run, after doing a bit of research on it, not really impressed with their website and debt looks a bit high. HCU looks better value in this sector. Just a few thoughts, I am probably wrong! | wipo1
28/1/2004 17:26 | This is about the price I sold 2/3 of my holding a few weeks ago. I wonder if a share placement is in the offing? Two of my stocks (TSCO & HTH) have done this and caused significant falls as a result. | dumpling
28/1/2004 11:13 | MM's have pulled a stroke on Robbie by dropping it through his stoploss though this could just be the time to buy. | banovallum
19/1/2004 17:51 | Back to that 86p high today. The impetus seems to have been given by Robbie Burns (www.frequenttrader. | diogenesj
02/1/2004 12:22 | Up 2p to 86p - yet another all time high. The resistance channel lines mentioned in my posting immediately above have been well and truly smashed. This is looking very strong. CH. | churchtower
20/12/2003 10:16 | Diogenes - Agreed I was not expecting this sort of further % rise at this level this early. My target of 78 which I mentioned in July has been well and truly met. In normal circumstances I would have been tempted to top slice like Dumpling mentioned above, but as I firmly believe that one should never ever sell a rising share until the trend is clearly over I continue to hold and now, for the reasons below, even more strongly. This move upwards is a substantial breakout from a standard error and raff regression channel going back to 8/01/03. It is significant because of the high volume which caused it (117% above normal). The volume accumulation indicator has also moved again to an all time high. One would expect a pause for breath or even a re-test of the breakout, with the previous well established resistance trend line then acting as the new support line. There may be however some unknown factor which has caused this rise. If so a further rise on Monday, possible even if only euphoria, cannot be ruled out. | churchtower
20/12/2003 00:20 | Still going up 88p . | washbrook
19/12/2003 11:51 | Remarkable rise today: up 4.5p, 5.7%. Good news, but rather unexpected... | diogenesj
19/12/2003 11:02 | Looks like i got in at the right time!! :-)) | moorsy
19/12/2003 10:52 | I have been in these for some time although reduced to less than half what i once had on the basis that the price had drifted and there was nothing new on the horizon. Now its shooting up. What gives? | vector
19/12/2003 08:41 | Up to another all time high, up 1.5p to 80.50 this morning. CH. | churchtower |
