10/1/2012 07:41 | Solid Fundamental at British Land Sat 9:30 am A glance at the above chart of the FTSE 100 illustrates it has been a strong start for equities in 2012, as fresh optimism over the outlook for global growth tempted investors to add funds into the market. Strong economic data helped restore confidence, with encouraging manufacturing data from the US, Eurozone and China offering evidence that the final quarter of 2011 was stronger than many analysts had expected providing encouraging momentum for the beginning of 2012. | lucky_punter
09/1/2012 14:58 | nice chart Sky I take it you are refering to the 50 day acting as an upward limit for the shares? If it is and 450 is a bas then the falling wedge would seem to indicate the price must at some stage break above the 50 day line - that would be the positive reading I believe - with the current period representing a consolidating bottom (sic dont laugh!) and a buying opportunity but beware I am no chartist | chairman20
09/1/2012 11:51 | I view BLND as the Industry bellwether, so watching that falling 50day MA closely and hoping it won't take BLND down through the important 450p support. If we break out on the upside then will increase exposure to the sector, here and in my preferred small cap play - IFD. Those small caps have outperformed the majors since I posted back in July, but not by much. Incidentally with the fall over the past 6months IFD now yield 11%. IMS/NAV/Divi statement due in just over 2weeks. | skyship

09/1/2012 08:31 | I am not sure what the deal is with all of the quick links that are all over advfn ! Solid Fundamental at British Land Sat 9:30 am Cont... The group currently trades on 15.8x earnings and yields 5.6%, with dividends supported by a strong property portfolio and long rental leases, British Land looks the safest of the blue-chip REITs. Interestingly, Executive Director, Stephen Smith, recently bought over £250,000 worth at 457p. Cont... | tenapen

05/1/2012 16:45 | Fortunately this is not a spob thread! (I tried to get a mass migration to a better BP thread). | miata
05/1/2012 15:26 | My problem Billy is that I just click on the skip 'header' tag thus it is my fault if I miss important info. This thread is ok but you want to see the BP header, it takes yonks to wade through :-) | sicker
05/1/2012 13:24 | Thank you for your reply, apologies for not being more observant. Billy | billy5
05/1/2012 10:54 | billy MIATA above has pointed out the explanation. | sicker

05/1/2012 09:45 | sicker Re yours 1238, are you saying that 20% is deducted at source. I don't recall that being the case when I have held these in the past. Anybody else have thoughts? Billy. | billy5
05/1/2012 09:37 | Ta. Not really a call just a study of history backed up by the reasons (the US tax system). | miata

13/12/2011 14:47 | pojscott, if you are unaware (as I was) be warned that there is 20% tax to pay on the declared div. (so .065p = .052p) | sicker
13/12/2011 14:31 | Just bought 926!!! Good divi--in for long term. | pojscott
12/12/2011 20:57 | None taken - and happen to think BLND is the sector pick. The large recent director buying also appears a sign of longer term confidence. Some more defensive sectors are now reaching levels that makes much value difficult to see. | essentialinvestor
12/12/2011 19:38 | EssentialInvestor, Sorry for my post. I should learn to think before posting in Future, No offence intended. | tenapen
12/12/2011 18:59 | Circumspect maybe. As I am not short here have nothing to smile about. | essentialinvestor
12/12/2011 18:33 | You have been 'negative' on BLND for a long time now. I'm glad you are happy tonight. | tenapen
