I agree. It is a good buying opportunity. There is every possibility that in the days ahead it will be a fantastic buying opportunity. I am keeping my powder dry for the moment.

Everything in the FTSE has been sold off, the market is super depressed...and I don't see a bottom. RB is at £64, BATS at £36, IMB at £26, Just Eat at £7.30....the list goes on. If this isn't a buying opportunity, I don't know what is.

We are NOT getting a deal either way, we are going to be thrown out come March. I expect sterling to hit the floor, 1.15 is most likely. This will screw over importers like ABF even more, nothing is wrong with the UK economy, but fear is fear and we import more than we can chew. Theresa May will be on the dole before June next year, she will proceed to enter the speech circuit and make £100,000 a pop for 30 minutes of ever ever so hard work (sarcasm).

BATS may do alright then, since a weak sterling will increase revenues. The panic selling should be over, and we will be cruising towards £50 for sure.

As a sector example thought there was panic on IMB under £24,
mentioned on the imb board that looked decent value.
On BATS, I would say we are not in that area yet.
However, might be wrong, don't have any gift of prescience.

Been a total waste of time and money in the uk markets this year.... five up / fifteen down today , about par for the course lately. FTSE100 short opened yesterday doing ok though 😛

Going from £52 to £36 isn't panic selling? That is sheer destruction of capital. Especially when we are in a bull market.

Ok, well I'm not sure how long you've been involved in markets,
but this is nowhere near panic selling, nowhere near.
Others might offer a different view, that's just my own take.
It might reverse today, tomorrow etc.

Trends tend to develop further in one direction that often anticipated,
FFS don't get overextended in exposure to an individual stock.

The stock has fallen too far too fast, I really do want to see the board push a dividend increase just to shut the market up. I don't know many people who will be able to resist a 7% dividend in a large cap stock.

This_time, do you smoke?, I'm guessing you don't.
And if not, do you know people that vape, and asked them where
they buy from, which products they use etc?.
Type ..buy vape kits.. into an Amazon search and see how many results
come back, you might be surprised by the number of companies in this market.

Is BATS longer term value here?, I really can't say.
What I would say is it may be less cheap than it looks,
Because it has around £48 billion in net debt.
Now some FANG stocks may be in a bubble, but most of those have
huge levels of net cash on the balance sheet, rather than swimming in debt.

When things are going well and prices are high, investors rush to buy, forgetting all prudence. Then, when there’s chaos all around and assets are on the bargain counter, they lose all willingness to bear risk and rush to sell. And it will ever be so.
