28/7/2010 08:49 | Final price unlikely to be higher than 1075 as RNS states that the offer price will be reduced if divi paid to shareholders. Take 1010 now, up to 1075 if bid goes through, and possibly more if counter offer is made. | njb67
28/7/2010 08:40 | take the market price now or wait for 1105p. Got plenty of these but fortunately can wait for the 1105p and always the off chance of a rival flushed out. | smellyjim
28/7/2010 08:35 | The £10.75 offer includes the 30p dividend, great results. | crawford

28/7/2010 07:27 | I'll take it. Look where it was pre bid announcement. | smellyjim
28/7/2010 07:25 | A pity only 1075p - these results were suggestive of more. I suspect the board had been armlocked behind the scenes. | jonwig
28/7/2010 07:16 | yep close to 1100p today then, great result for holders. | smellyjim
26/7/2010 14:05 | From Insurance Times this morning:Brit to reveal £48m profit 26 July, 2010 Half-year news on Wednesday will show drop in premium City AM reports that Brit Insurance will announce on Wednesday that it, has made a pre-tax profit of £48m in the six months to June compared with a £9m loss in the same period last year. Analysts predict a 6% drop in gross premiums to £907m. Brit's shares closed at 910p on Friday. Analysts believe Brit shares, at 910p on Friday, will fall back to about 800p if private equity stalker Apollo abandons its pursuit. | 18bt

18/7/2010 12:24 | Nobody knows but my experience has been that when nothing happens fairly quickly, generally nothing happens. I'm not in and wouldn't come in just now because it's too much of a gamble for my style of working. | iomhere
17/7/2010 11:28 | Well as I said earlier it looks like we'll stay at around 900p until we hear whether Apollo will up their bid. IMHO I'd say its looking more likely Apollo will up their bid as if they thought 1100p was out of the question they would have walked away by now. I'd expect to hear something this week. All IMHO of course, DYOR etc. | itchycrack
16/7/2010 19:34 | Got divi in both my SIPP & ISA account early this afternoon. iDealing.com are usually very good when it comes to divi's on time. | oniabsta
16/7/2010 19:05 | yes of course its foreign theres a delay. On another note I see IC are tipping BRE as BUY this week, bit risky imo, there must be a fairly high chance the offer will be taken off the table now. The market certainly is telling us it will be at the moment. | envirovision
16/7/2010 18:59 | Not yet (Selftrade) | pote
16/7/2010 18:59 | Not yet - TDW are often a few days delayed with foreign divis. | jonwig
16/7/2010 18:40 | has anye had their 30p payout yet? | envirovision
05/7/2010 14:11 | Apollo may have been 'trying it on' and not be interested at the suggested takeout price. The BRIT board may be stupid and have to answer to its major shareholders if Apollo do walk away leaving BRE @ 820p or so. Only a few dozen people know the answers to that, and I doubt they bother with bulletin boards. So the only rational thing to do is read the company accounts, maybe look out for Alex, B... , C... , D... , ... | jonwig

02/7/2010 13:06 | Looks like 900p is where it wants to stay pending the deal or no-deal... Downside looks more limited that the upside from this level. | itchycrack
02/7/2010 10:09 | Well clealy Apollo want to acquire BRE and in the current economic climate I would of thought it very unlikely they would ever get a better price than 1100p in the future if they walk away now. They will probably try and drive a hard bargain but 1100p seems to be the accepted take-out price. IMHO I would expect there to be some wrangling over the next week or so and then for Apollo to table an 1100p offer. I think the market is clearly undecided at this point, hence the rather muted reaction. All IMHO of course, DYOR etc. | itchycrack
02/7/2010 10:04 | You can say that again. | effortless cool |
