06/5/2015 10:25 | The selling price is only a fraction under the offer price and has been since the outset. Could there be another bidder? Could the offer be raised if there are not enough acceptances? | kombimatec
06/5/2015 09:51 | They will issue an RNS when it goes uncond then get money 14 days after that | spob
05/5/2015 20:23 | Yes, likewise, Valhamos. | wirralowl
05/5/2015 19:57 | There has been no announcement that it is unconditional in all respects. Not sure why there is a delay, if it goes on for much longer it would have been better for me to have sold in the market. | valhamos
05/5/2015 17:27 | Anyone know if they've gone 'wholly unconditional' yet, and if so when are we to expect the proceeds? Can't sell them online with HL now. TIA. | wirralowl
05/5/2015 17:13 | Thanks - Scrub my last comment. Had thought it would go into the Stocktrade account but just checked my bank account and it was received on 30th. Usually get a dividend / tax voucher though - don't recall seeing that. | valhamos
05/5/2015 16:59 | Received mine on 1/5 from iWeb(normally slowish-but not the worst) FWIW. | cwa1
05/5/2015 16:55 | Not yet received the dividends I was expecting on 30th April (the broker is Stocktrade). Anybody else had any problems? | valhamos
24/4/2015 14:53 | ah ok.. thanks! | martinc
24/4/2015 14:40 | MartinC - I believe the offer has to go wholly unconditional. Previous announcement was only 'unconditional as to acceptances'. "Subject to the Offer becoming or being declared unconditional in ALL respects, settlement of the consideration to which any Brit Shareholder is entitled under the Offer will be effected, in the case of acceptances received by the date on which the Offer becomes or is declared unconditional in ALL respects, within 14 calendar days of such date. Notwithstanding the foregoing, FGL will, to the extent practicable, pay for tendered Brit Shares within seven to ten calendar days from such date." AFAICS the offer to date has not been declared unconditional in ALL respects. | speedsgh
24/4/2015 08:44 | Does anyone know when the cash should arrive? My Barclays account has changed my BRIT holding to "BRIA Brit (Assd Ffhl Grp Cash)", which suggests it's on the way. I've read the RNSs, and I thought it says settlement should be 14 working days after it goes unconditional. and I thought that had happened? | martinc
20/3/2015 06:04 | Should have Sold at 305,and put the proceeds into BEZ or LRE. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. He you dares wins. He who hesitates is lost. !!! What was the price of LRE when BRIT news broke about the take over 560 ? Never mind you have your Dividend coming and things could change. | garycook
19/3/2015 23:29 | Spob---you seem to forget this was always possible as the majority of the shares are held by those who floated the company. Grin and bear it! | bscuit
19/3/2015 10:37 | " Meanwhile you might just be watching the shares sale away higher and higher " Ha HA Lord Gnome I've been doing this too long to never let such fears influence my purchases | spob
19/3/2015 10:21 | spob - I think that sound advice could apply to any shares, 'always buy after a pull back'. (Meanwhile you might just be watching the shares sale away higher and higher. Never mind, always more fish in the sea.) | lord gnome
19/3/2015 10:01 | Jamshaq - my advice is not to buy any insurers at the moment - they are all historically fully valued right now - sure there are some hefty yields but that can change quickly wait for a market panic and then fill your boots I remember when the average PE ratio for an insurer was 8 just my personal opinion | spob
19/3/2015 09:23 | jamshaq - LRE would be a better bet imo. You may also like to take a look at AML and CSN (and SSE if you can handle political risk). | lord gnome
19/3/2015 09:17 | Thanks spob and Lord Gnome for the advice.Did,nt buy but I am really tempted with these special dividends.I was going to buy £5000 of Lancashire (LRE) before christmas, chickened out and missed the 75p payout. The shareprice did drop but has risen way above what it was then.Any views are always welcomed. | jamshaq
19/3/2015 09:15 | Ex dividend today 25p | spob
18/3/2015 15:35 | Sold my BRIT and put the proceeds into BEZ with a 7% -10% Dividend depending on Specials | garycook
18/3/2015 15:27 | jamshaq - do not buy, as spob says, there is no point. A waste of time effort and money. | lord gnome
18/3/2015 09:25 | no point - you are just enriching your broker | spob
18/3/2015 09:23 | I am thinking of buying some brit shares today for the dividend. Any advice on whether I should at this time with the company being sold. | jamshaq
18/3/2015 09:22 | I am thinking of buying some brit shares today for the dividend. Any advice on whether I should at this time with the company being sold. | jamshaq |
