17/5/2013 08:45 | Brammer - a leading pan-European added value supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul product solutions - is on track to achieve management's full year expectations. The group says gross margins for the four months to the end of April were up by 100 basis points and cash flow and net debt remain in line with forecasts. The company's interim management statement says: "Despite difficult economic conditions across Europe, we have continued to gain market share. "Overall sales at constant currency were down 2.9% which represents a resilient performance. "Gross profit margins have improved by 100 basis points year on year, and costs continue to be tightly controlled. "As a result, we are on track to meet our full year expectations although we do anticipate a greater weighting to the second half reflecting momentum in the year to date | broadwood

22/4/2013 15:07 | This is an industrial that closely follows general market sentiment and the exports make it euro sensitive too. The big rush up regarding low pound helping exports was done in Q1. I can see this retracing more. | pantastic

03/4/2013 18:22 | By the way, I don't ever invest in funds as I prefer to do the decision making myself - so I couldn't make any comment on them. But the general rule is to stick to funds if the sums involved are modest. | broadwood
03/4/2013 18:18 | Hi barbell. As, I guess you already know, I'm a fan of both these stocks and both Companies are producing excellent results which look set to continue. But, as you'll know, the equity market has been pretty strong recently so there is an even chance it may drop back. I like both stocks for the long term but over a shorter horizon, bear in mind they've had good runs. My portfolio is spread over about fifty stocks to give plenty of diversity some which I only hold briefly, others for much longer. Another one I like is SENR where again the prospects look good. All this just in my opinion, of course. Whatever you decide, the very best of luck. | broadwood |
