22/12/2010 11:04 | I was aware of ShareMark and Brainjuicer's "listing" on it but have always seen it as a bit of a distraction from the AIM market. The AIM spread is pretty poor but I don't know that the current poor liquidity offered by ShareMark is much compensation (to date not a single BJU share has been traded on it). In this special auction it looks like they are making some effort to provide an opportunity to both buy and sell shares so it is worth observing to see how it progresses. | longshanks
21/12/2010 21:45 | Never seen this before.... Dear LCF Research subscriber, We would like to draw your attention to the fact that Sharemark, the online stock market for smaller companies, is hosting a special Christmas Auction in shares of BrainJuicer Group Plc at 17:00 on Wednesday, the 22nd of December (tomorrow). BrainJuicer is the AIM listed online market research agency that we frequently cover on LCF Research. BrainJuicer is somewhat unusual in that it is a profitable, cash generative and dividend paying company that also has good organic growth prospects in a large global industry. Its share price has traded down slightly in recent days on a volume of less than 6,000 shares, though as of 15:00 today there were not any shares on offer. BrainJuicer shares are traded on both AIM and Sharemark, and executing trades through Sharemark is an excellent way for buyers and sellers to set share prices independently of the market maker because it is an order driven trading platform. The Sharemark system works in tandem with AIM - limit orders entered on Sharemark will be executed on AIM if the marketmaker is willing to trade at the price entered. However, if the trade cannot be done on AIM, the system automatically matches orders of buyers and sellers on Sharemark directly - enabling a true market price to be set even at low trading volumes. The cut-off time for submitting a bid to buy or sell BJU shares is 16:30 tomorrow, though bid and offers can be placed at any time between now and then. We expect that there will be bids and offers for BJU posted on Sharemark tomorrow. To place a bid/offer, contact your broker and request a Sharemark transaction at your limit price (many stockbrokers are already approved on the Sharemark system - if yours is not, you may be able to open an account at The Share Centre online). | stegrego

06/12/2010 23:27 | Brainjuicer has been highlighted as one of the top 20 developing brands for 2011 by CNBC. BRAINJUICER the new market research In an industry that's facing slow growth as it adjusts to new technology and clients' demands for insights rather than just data, BrainJuicer stands out, and not just because its profits doubled last year. This 10-year-old British firm leads the way in harnessing consumers' emotional as well as rational responses to research stimuli. Brands like Philips, Chivas Brothers and Nike are on the client list, and the company aims to be one of the 10 biggest market- research providers in the next decade. After expanding gradually into the US, Germany and the Netherlands, BrainJuicer has recently launched in Brazil and China. -------------------- There is also a new video on the Brainjuicer website (home page) giving some interesting insights into feedback gleaned from the recent ESOMAR congress in Athens: The Future of Market Research Notable on this video are the conference representatives from large multinational companies (e.g. Coca Cola, General Mills) who appear to be suggesting that it is companies like Brainjuicer that will give Market Research a future. | longshanks
29/11/2010 23:17 | Anyone fancy a job? DigiVisionary at Brainjuicer.... Early days but I reckon they are looking to make a lot of money out of this new tool. Job Description DigiVisionary Job Description Break new ground in social media research by developing this award winning new tool whilst working closely with clients DigiViduals is BrainJuicer's latest 'Juicy' tool. It is a hugely exciting next generation, social media based research tool that has just won the 4A's Chiat Day Gold Medal for Research Innovation. It is creating a great deal of attention in the research world and is starting to be the subject of press comment (see appendices). DigiViduals is the research application output from an exclusive collaboration with social media, IT specialists Philter Phactory. It delivers social media powered insights to companies looking to understand their customers, brands or trends on a more intuitive level. DigiViduals are essentially programmed research robots; programmed to reflect the characteristics of a segment, brand or trend and to search Twitter and multimedia social media sites (Flickr, YouTube, Last FM etc) to return content relevant to our search target. This is then analysed by a researcher to identify trends and themes in the output, and to create inspiring narratives that provide a qualitative 'feel' for who the segment / brand / trend are. This is a different way of conducting research as it doesn't involve respondents (as we traditionally think of them) and provides a different style of output that is primarily visual. This methodology was first used in March 2010 and has continued to develop and improve since. Development is ongoing to make the tool more effective and our delivery of it more inspiring and insightful. Current plans include incorporating it into BrainJuicer's Online Communities so we can have real respondents create their own searches and comment and discuss on their output. For more information on DigiViduals please contact us, there was a long paper shortlisted for two ESOMAR awards (best paper, best methodology) and a shorter one that won Gold at the Jay Chiat Awards in the US (neither are publically available). Here is an online video of one of the DigiViduals brought to life: Juice Generation This is a new position and will sit within the newly formed Juice Generation team alongside BrainJuicer's Communities and Creative 6ers. The Juice Generation team has a qualitative bias and is responsible for insight and concept generation, articulation of thoughts and consumer exploration. It supports the whole of BrainJuicer's global network. This role will mean you are the central person for all things DigiVidual in BrainJuicer, you will be responsible for its ongoing development and project delivery. It is an opportunity to work with a highly sophisticated research tool and guide its further development, there are many opportunities for this tool to develop - so far we have only scratched the surface! Please note no programming or advanced IT skills are required we leave that for Philter Phactory. Appendix Digividual Jay Chait Gold award Press Release: Article in Molblog (translated from Dutch): Skills This role will suit someone who has: An interest in social media and its potential research applications 5+ years of qualitative / ethnographic research experience (online experience particularly useful) Creativity in presenting / organising non-factual information creating narratives and stories Clarity ability to think in conceptual terms and bring this down to something real and tangible Strong team-worker there are a number of stakeholders (Philter Phactory, internal, client, project partners) with whom you'll need to work Confident writer writing / editing award submissions and articles for the press Proactive to identify and drive improvements in the tool, also need to work independently Appreciation of brands and marketing Responsibilities / Role Leading and growing what will be an important Juicy tool for BrainJuicer Proposal writing DigiVidual project design, analysis and reporting Client communication / management / presenting Project managing the tool's ongoing development Community management (MROC) Paper / article writing (and potentially presenting) Communication and explanation of tool externally and internally Development of sales and process related materials | longshanks
11/11/2010 12:39 | The companies website has been updated with the two recently announced significant shareholders we have acquired. Interestingly it has two additional holders listed for whom we still haven't had any RNS. Hargreave Hale have 540038 (4.3%) Herald Investment Management have 500000 (4.0%) Good to see some quality institutional investors getting into this....augurs well IMO. What I find strange though is that the sums don't add up: UV sold 2,070,000 on 1st October and 220,000 on 4th November James Geddes sold 125,000 on 1st October That makes total sales of 2,415,000 shares. The four new institutions together have 2,689,213 shares. My guess is that Hargreave Hale and or Liontrust were owners of some shares between them before the sales from UV and have since upped their positions (considerably). | longshanks
11/11/2010 12:19 | Not complaining though ! | soho2
11/11/2010 12:16 | buyers behind closed doors.... | longshanks
11/11/2010 11:55 | rise on no volume!!!!!!!!!!!!! | soho2
03/11/2010 17:30 | I wondered what the chunky trades "off-market" yesterday and today were about. Looks like UV is happy to divest the bulk of their holdings though presumably these are matched trades and we have some new insti holdings about to make themselves known. RNS Number : 5842V BrainJuicer Group PLC 03 November 2010 ? +------------------- | Press Release | 3 November 2010 | +------------------- | | | +------------------- BrainJuicer Group PLC ("BrainJuicer" and the "Company") Substantial Shareholder Dealing The Company was notified today, that Unilever UK Holdings Limited ("Unilever"), a substantial shareholder in the Company, sold 500,000 ordinary shares in the Company on the 2 November 2010 at a price of 205 pence per ordinary share. Following the above transaction, Unilever now holds 1,988,643 ordinary shares equating to 16.0% of the issued share capital of the Company. | longshanks
29/10/2010 08:26 | Interesting piece written for "Marketing Science" by John Kearon: Makes me think he sees himself and Brainjuicer as being one of the pioneers of the "New Categories" he talks about. According to his formula, 5 to 7 years is required to become noticed and then a further 5 to 7 years to develop after which such businesses start making mega-bucks. Brainjuicer, starting in 2001, if following such a line of development, should, any time from 2011 to 2015, start to experience explosive growth. Presumably given it would be organic growth shareholders would become incredibly wealthy. Could be that his ego is getting ahead of itself too though.... | longshanks
22/10/2010 09:26 | So Blackrock took half of the UV shares - and half of those were for the Small Cap Trust. Just need notification of where the other million shares went. Should find out soon enough. | longshanks
16/10/2010 03:27 | Some recent videos posted on Vimeo: Look out for the subtle "city broker" bashing at the beginning of the first video. "We are a tiny company"..."They (the city analysts) are always telling us - of course you want to make acquisitions".... The second video is equally fascinating as it has Orlando Wood on a platform describing Face Trace together with a key customer that uses the tool, HSBC. The really interesting thing is that HSBC are actively looking at using the tool as part of a "real-time" Customer Feedback system within HSBC branches all around the world. Trialled in the UK and currently being trialled in Brasil - this could be a significant income earner for Brainjuicer - and opens up opportunity for similar implementations in other businesses where customer service is really seen as an important differentiator: airlines, hotels, supermarkets. It is also worth noting that the company has recruited some top-end client directors to their London team over the summer; they now appear with the employee bios on the website. To my mind this can only mean one thing - they are winning substantial research mandates. A total of 100 people now work for Brainjuicer (including Directors) - I imagine we will be up to 110 by Christmas. If this company doesn't meet/exceed current market expectations I would be very surprised; it is really buzzing. | longshanks
14/10/2010 09:44 | no news as to where this stock has gone...very creepy. No doubt we will have notifications in time - but perhaps the purchasers are trying to keep their activity under wraps. Anyway - Brainjuicer's new Digividual product line is gaining wider and wider recognition. News this week that they won "Research Gold" at the prestigious 4A's Jay Chiat Strategy Festival in Miami. With innovation in market research being driven by the likes of Brainjuicer it is inevitable that we will be getting some very serious attention from global advertising agencies. We could be on the cusp of some game-changing deals in the process - watch this space. | longshanks
01/10/2010 12:34 | I don't know. I start investing in a company and the big shareholders immediately head for the door. Just joking.............. | pentangle
01/10/2010 12:27 | spot on ! Longshanks and Finacial D too ! | soho2
01/10/2010 10:28 | Looks like Unilever Ventures has offloaded the bulk of their holdings today. No-one else could possibly be selling this quantity of stock. Expect a rush of RNS' with some new institutional shareholders joining the fold. | longshanks
29/9/2010 21:13 | Good to have you on board pentangle - a decent long term hold I would say - but then I would. Today's RNS is confusing me. They transferred shares out of treasury at £2.15 to employees through share options and then bought some more from the market at the same price to restore the number in treasury. What I don't understand is - does that mean that the employees paid £2.15 per share? Either way - the fact they are buying shares into treasury at £2.15 does indicate that the price is still seen as good value by the company. It also means another 18K shares have been taken out of the market and transferred to employees who most likely will be keeping them as long term holders. ------------------ The website has got two newish videos that I hadn't seen before: ChinaFest from June with the launch of their office out there and Innovation Fest from London in July which gives a flavour of some of the new juicy products the company is developing. Well worth looking at these and the other videos for anyone new to this company as it gives a decent perspective on this company's dynamism. | longshanks
27/9/2010 16:28 | I think I got these going in a large part as I was buying as many as I could up to 188 - then they seemed to get a life of their own on very little volume. I think longshanks is to be congratulated as he seems to have been talking to himself to a large extent earlier on this thread and was clearly far sighted! Anyway, I am obviously in because it looks good to me. I think the previous high was when they spiked up to about 220 soon after flotation - they were ridiculously overhyped at that stage, but look fair value now. Not cheap, but quality never is. | pentangle
27/9/2010 14:46 | very strange ...unable to buy more than ....10 !!!!!!!!!!! yes 10 shares!!!! at full asking price. i need to call them of i want a larger trade! | soho2 |
