29/7/2009 08:21 | Are we not getting 1 new Jubilee share for every 15.818 BRR share. I see that as a good thing. LOL? | very quick
29/7/2009 08:17 | Where do the AR's of this world come from. Ga ga Land?? Though better buying BRR instead of JLP on the off chance that there may yet be a better counter bid | judijudi
29/7/2009 07:33 | Alex, we long-term holders still muck around here a bit but I can't for the life of me imagine why anybody would be thinking of buying in at the moment. There is no serious reason to imagine that the JLP deal will not go ahead, and BRR will be delisted. So, instead of complicating things around here, I would recommend that you study JLP. If you like it, buy in directly there. If not, there are plenty more interesting plays out there right now. | assegai

28/7/2009 17:22 | BHP have dealt with Colin Bird, [crossed swords] before, a good read. Shows what Birdy is made of and shows us how BHP operate. | popper4
28/7/2009 13:50 | "cautiously optimistic of the project's merits" Seems to be getting more negative to me | judijudi
28/7/2009 13:41 | ...not exactly designed to set the share price alight, is it? | assegai
28/7/2009 13:28 | RNS Number : 4059W Braemore Resources PLC 28 July 2009 Braemore Resources Plc 'Braemore' or 'the Company') Market update on the Leinster Nickel Tailings Project Braemore Resources Plc ('Braemore' or 'the Company'; AIM: BRR, JSE: BRE) is pleased to update the market on progress with the Leinster Nickel Tailings Project. As previously advised to shareholders, BHP Billiton has been conducting a technical and financial review on the scoping studies provided by Braemore in February 2009. The review is ongoing following provision of additional data requested by BHP Billiton during the period to date and is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2009. Leon Coetzer, Braemore's CEO, commented, 'The Leinster project is moving steadily forward. We continue to be cautiously optimistic of the project's merits, and have maintained our area of focus amid the recently announced corporate activity.' | someuwin

24/7/2009 20:38 | I wasnt answering for wendy. I was simply commenting that your question was stupid. However, inappropriate is probably a more polite word. Your question was inappropriate, and as an active member of the BB I am quite entitled to say so. | billysilly
24/7/2009 20:20 | Peoples financial affairs are their own business, but people should bear in mind that its clear that people's views are often influenced by the information they receive, the way it is presented, their ego, and their holdings. If people go back over the posts of the past few years its easy to see there has been some strong cheerleading from certain quarters. Thats to be expected, but people need to take such views with a pinch of salt, and see them for what they are. No more valuable than anyone elses, irrespective of supposed reputation, status or connections. If anything, the more connected people seem to be, the more unbalanced can seem to be their views. It can also make them a lot more patronising when criticised. I personally am shocked/disappointed at how certain posters batted away potential negatives as being inconsequential to any "sensible long term investor", but just goes to show yet again how people should never rely on the views of other posters, however trenchantly expressed que sera sera.... | robin_of_loxley
24/7/2009 19:59 | wendy - thats fine - not quite sure why naiad and billysilly are answering questions for you - as I have seen before you seem quite able. For the record, and as I have said before on this bb, I never take recommendations from others and make my own investment decisions and therefore have no one to blame but myself - so the question wasn't aimed at trying to shovel blame onto you. | srob9
24/7/2009 18:02 | WD's financial affairs are nothing to do with the rest of us and trying to analyse her responses is a pointless and irrelevant exercise and I have not seen any evidence over the last 20 months that she pushes this share - let's concentrate on understanding the business so we are better informed to make our judgement whether to invest or stay invested. WD's analysis and information is interesting and useful - thank you WD, given the attitude and comment of some on this B I sometimes wonder why you bother. | naiad
24/7/2009 18:01 | srob9 - I HAVE answered you as far as I am willing. I have a substantial holding by my own standards, but one which does not cause me to lose sleep at night even though I am currently losing some money on paper. If that's not enough for you then you can do the other thing. Because it really is none of your business. | wdurham
24/7/2009 17:46 | all a bit too defensive for such a simple question. if you dont wish to answer just say so - it is within your discretion whether to answer or not. | srob9
24/7/2009 17:14 | srob - I don't "constantly push" the share. But I am positive about the technology, and I believe the management have done the best they could in appalling circumstances. There is a world of difference. I'm sorry you can't see that. | wdurham
24/7/2009 16:56 | you say it is a stupid question - I obviously disagree - when someone constantly pushes a share it is good to know what they have at stake and at what price - this avoids any accusations of conflicts of interest. I own a number of businesses and my co-investors know how much I own and the price I paid per share - I dont consider this nosey - thats just good business. | srob9
24/7/2009 16:48 | billysilly is right, srob9 - it really is none of your business. Suffice it to say that I have a holding which is large enough to give me a very good return in the long-term, but small enough to let me sleep at night without fretting about it in the short and medium term. My average price is also nothing to do with you - but if it makes you feel better, it is higher than today's share price. But then I guess the same goes for virtually all of us. | wdurham
24/7/2009 16:29 | Srob9. What a stupid question. Why not ask her also how much she has in the bank while your at it. There's interest and then there's being bloody nosey. | billysilly
24/7/2009 16:26 | wdurham - out of interest how many shares do you own in BRR and what is your average share price? | srob9 |
