Bears will start to move in now, interests rates will creep up next year, market has topped out, downside a tad obvious, target 600/650p

Entirely agree. Very small move in TW which indicates the market thinks this is mainly specific to Bvs

Hi again bigboots (replied to you earlier). Not sure why you continue to say that. There is no evidence for saying there's a market downturn somehow suggested by Bovi managements delay in final completion of only 150 odd homes out of 4000 this year! You clearly seem to want suggest there's a house price crash looming. Not sure you can defend that view , especially given prices are still going up and even Bovis's prices are up higher than the general markets (as they also stated today). Management here deserve the kicking, not the general market, which remains in rude health and which bodes well for Bovis as they fix their butter fingers. Regards,Source.

This will be across the sector here, all builders were saying that there is a stock shortage, this may be true but people would prefer to rent until there is stability in the market, think we now see a prolonged downturn through 2017 - every builder will report the same in their next quarterly report

Hi salpara, they stated:-"...slower than expected build production across the Group's sites during December,.."-- so it seems poor management is the cause (again). This CEO, & his handpicked cronies, seem a bunch of muppets. On the sensible side they are on a PE of 8 or less, high yield and only valued at around book value only, so drastic drops seem unlikely(?) BUT I am hoping this may attract a buyer at these levels given they actually have a few very attractive sites and landbank. Not happy though. At least the dividend seems safe. Regards,Source.

I own Crest which has been well marked down today.
They have been very opaque as to why there has been a slow down. Is it due to a sudden softening in demand or their own inability to manage their building schedule.

Don't think so bigboots all other builders are reporting a continuing strong market so it seems a Bovis specific problem (i.e. poor management) not anything wrong with the core business. This seems a 10% miss on put forecasts, which with a bit of pressure should come in in the New Year (or hopefully the few days left in Dec!)I think the management deserve a real grilling for this, especially as all the competition seem to be capitalising on strong end markets. Regards,Source.

I cleared out at the bell. Might do same with the rest of my builders now.

looks like brexit has finally hit the housing market - there is a long way down from here, housing market on a steep slippery slope into 2017

Welp....seems Bovis's December sales will slip into January. They are suggesting dividends will be fine. But not good to hear. Luckily the shareprice hasn't been rewarding them as much as the other builders (maybe now we know why!) so it may be given a slap down but not a big one given its cash position and high yield but still not good to hear. Sort of confirms my doubts about the management, who I think are poor. Maybe a buyout is the best outcome here. Regards,Source.

lousy xmas gift from bvs management. 5% share price drop as december 'build production' weaker than planned. Time for a new ceo. This guy has no drive as he has demonstrated before. with a new ceo this share price could motor. But not someone from inside bvs please.

Seems Bovis is out of sync with other housebuilders rises after the Autumn statements positive remarks supporting builders again...Regards,Source. "...British housebuilders turn positive on UK infrastructure plan..."

Doesn't look like autumn statement housing promises has done much to BVS share price , though old news by the time he announced it.

Seems some brokers are now moving their forecasts for next years eps back up to where they were before Brexit fears. About time given the copious data saying the prior downgrades were wrong. Still a long way to go to get back to where they were before so hopefully these earnings upgrades will be one of many....Regards,Source.

The rise should continue till week after next
why

14/11 Tw
15/ Crst and Gle
16/11 Bdev

All previous 4 house builders are inline - exceeded growth
Next 4 will be the same

Very good update from Bovis today...Tick, tick, tick...bad sentiment starting to seem irrational...Regards,Source. "Trading updateDavid Ritchie, Chief Executive, commented:"Another year of both growth in volume and increase in average sales price is expected to deliver record revenues for the Group in 2016. As a result, we are on track to deliver increased profit and a further improvement in return on capital employed, in line with our expectations. We continue to trade well, drive production across all our sites, invest in our people and acquire high quality land outside London. Housing market fundamentals remain supportive despite greater market uncertainty and we continue to manage the business through the cycle to deliver sustainable shareholder returns."...
