17/11/2015 08:56 | Hi Jdb, Thank-you for trying to educate me on pivot points etc, but it is my own philosphy to watch EPS and co direction. I feel watching others re share price would be to take eye of the ball. Having said that, I do look at share price over periods of 1 day to 2Y, to get a feel for cyclical sentiment. I would have guessed today would be up a smidgin (a technical term, a wee bit smaller than a tad), but to see 1.75% on FTSE and my folio is a nice surprise and it is not 9.00 a.m. yet. :-) BVS 2.75% up and best inc on day of the builders I watch/hold. | dr_smith
17/11/2015 07:39 | Deutsche Bank reiterates its "BUY" stance on BVS this morning with a price target of 1352p. DB also rate TW. a "BUY" with a target price of 233p. | gp1948

16/11/2015 19:15 | Website now says Bovis Homes trading update this Thursday.... should lead to a strong rally.. we shall see... | trytotakeiteasy
16/11/2015 16:54 | DR S - BVS Pivot for tomorrow is 949. R1 = 966 & R2 977. | jdb2005
16/11/2015 15:33 | Good spot Jdb, I've moved BWAY above BVS now to correct ;-) My portfolio started in -ve territory, now 0.75% up. :-) | dr_smith
16/11/2015 15:16 | TW. well received, gives the sector a bit of a boost perhaps. | scottishfield
16/11/2015 13:02 | This cannot be right - BVS ahead of Crest Nicholson & Bellway this morning !! | jdb2005
15/11/2015 16:27 | No implied problems in Bdev trading update on 11/11/15: "The increasing competition within the mortgage sector has resulted in good availability of attractive mortgage finance, which continues to support consumer demand." Given that New houses are mostly not first timers, (key players for likes of rightmove) and bring equity of 'old house' upon sale, perhaps it is properties targeted for first timers that are suffering. | dr_smith
15/11/2015 15:47 | DD - Makes you wonder who is pulling the strings. Not enough houses being built & demand so far out strips supply. Zoola & Rightmove & Estate Agents say insufficient existing houses coming onto the market. Builders say they could build more but people are finding they cannot get mortgages without sizeable deposits. Interest rates low & have been for some time. Govt. talk a lot but little action - maybe they are feeling having won a majority last May they do not have to respond to voters demand for more starter homes etc. | jdb2005
15/11/2015 11:49 | JdbDon't think so, the majority of builders are in a downward trend at the moment. A 1.5% drop would not constitute a tree shake, far from it IMV.The buys were estimated at 201k, sells 108k, but the emphasis should be that these are pure guesses, nothing more, the share price movement suggests otherwise.GLDD | discodave4
15/11/2015 11:00 | Taken look BVS trades on Friday. Buys = 127k Sells 108k Yet somehow the share price dropped 16.5p to 941. Clearly MMs have been playing games & squeezing out nervous PIs. | jdb2005
15/11/2015 10:38 | BOE official suggests the Housing market is broken & prices will continue to rise. That means Builders will gain higher profits from their new houses/apartments in South East of England. 'The housing market is broken. There is a chronic and accumulated imbalance between demand and supply, and it is that which is sending skyward - and has sent skyward - house prices,' He rules out prospect of bank rate rises in near future: | jdb2005
13/11/2015 16:41 | Hi Jdb. Thank-you for thinking of me. Better than dwelling on todays prices ;-) I have avg, which seems to work OK provided you don't accept their default invasive browser plugins. I tend to leave pc turned on for days at a time, so could just be down to memory not being released, though gremlin only seems to affect browser, and it is always after coming to this bb, so suspect it is adware related. | dr_smith
13/11/2015 16:12 | DR S - just a thought. Have you got Nortons Antivirus package on PC - it is known to be memory hunger & slows down performance. On the cnet website you can downlad a free copy of AVG which I find better in many respects. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 16:02 | Crazy prices - Builders suffering more than most but wait for the turnaround. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 13:58 | Yesterday morning PIs were paying 972 so Xmas sales have come early this year. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 13:49 | Agree over past 5 years BVS performance not as good as some. But company is well run & has used funds to build up land bank in South East of England. It builds better houses than most & focus is on locations that appeal to buyers. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 13:36 | Last Buy at 942.5 | jdb2005
13/11/2015 13:34 | Obviously this is very jaded as a statement.. but Bovis Homes really is the most rubbish housebuilder.. I think every other housebuilder trumps it in terms of returns since the downturn.... | trytotakeiteasy

13/11/2015 12:44 | DR S - you need to go into Settings & make certain you have deleted temporary files. Websites are for ever adding cookies which slow PCs & cause conflict with some browsers. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 12:38 | Added a few at 946. | jdb2005
13/11/2015 12:09 | Managed to get BVS at 946.5 this morning - has to be a good move l/t. | jdb2005 |
