Boustead plc

Boustead plc has changed its financial year end to 31 March, reverting back to a

Noticed the announecment yesterday of change of accounting period FOR ACQUISITION PURPOSES. News about to be released methinks on the long awaited acquisition. This could fly.

another few days and time to take profit

looking at AUK now with an unjustified fall today

75K sold and 50K bought leaves only 25K extra with mm

Boustead PLC sold all its business and now has 2.5m cash

A recent fall has produced a big discount to NAV

So what happened to make it fall small sells on the 6th of may

1 some one sold 10K at 17p followed by 2 smaller sells of 2K at 16 and 13p
Tiltonboy bought 25K at 14p and then another person 10K at 15.5p
So net buys 35K less 15K equals mm with 20K LESS stock and the prices falls

It has risk because the cash is lent out not in the bank but does that justify such a big discount

The company is also in the process of buying another company so while you wait you are buying into a company which has undervalued cash

DYOR but i think it is worth a 10K buy

Have just had a look at FOS.
Another interesting Cash shell.

I am only holding MKP at the moment, plus the remains of Lionheart.

Will do a bit more work, but do fancy adding another to the portfolio.

yes i too would feel better if it was in the bank earning money.

IMO like MKP this will slowly adjust to NAV over next month in run up to final results

The Value Thread is still on the London Forfaiting thread (LFC). There was some talk about moving it to the 600 Group thread but this never happened.

I look forward to reading your suggestion.

Ben,

I haven't posted on the value board for a long time, and have forgotten what thread it was on. I have an interesting suggestion, but do not want to be seen to be pushing it on other threads.

StewJames - Thanks for your message. I do hold FOS and they seem a safe bet. At the same time I bought FOS some months ago I also bought shares in Mid-States. Mid-States is also a cash shell and making a profit. It has deferred returning cash to shareholders to assess acquisition opportunities.

Thanks for the tip on the MKP bb Nissi.
A few familiar Cash shell followers on here.

So 17p to buy 24p cash(debtors) looks interesting.
Would feel more at ease if it was in the Bank.
How safe is the debt?

Ben, have you looked at FOS. Basically a cash shell trading at a cash discount but which also has a (small) profitable business already.

nissi, no I got distracted. Lots to do at the moment. Have to mull this one over for a day or two, I think. Need to be sure given the spread. I really don't like the way the cash is sitting in someone elses account, and that's only partly because it's earning them no money at all. Skyship, did he not give any explanation at all why they have this bizzarre set-up?

Skyship - I picked up the 6K. No problem at getting it at 16.5p
