29/1/2007 08:10 | For the record: I am still a buyer at these levels. -------------------- Block Shield Technical Progress & Additional Orders Block Shield Corporation Plc (`Block Shield' or `the Group') Development of Fully Automated RFID Manufacturing Module: Strategic Partnership & Additional Equipment Orders Block Shield Corporation PLC, the provider of innovative electronic components and processes utilized in electromagnetic compatibility (`EMC') and Radio Frequency Identification (`RFID') applications, is pleased to announce that it has completed the development of a fully automated manufacturing module for RFID 2nd generation inlays. Further to this significant engineering accomplishment, the Group is also pleased to announce that its Native American manufacturing licensee, Mu-Gahat Enterprises LLC ('Mu-Gahat'), has entered into a Strategic Agreement with Cellotape Inc (`Cellotape'), and has subsequently ordered further equipment from Block Shield. 2nd Generation Inlays 2nd generation inlays comprise both an antenna and a micro-chip, together embedded on a plastic strip, which are ready for use as information rich identification tags. These tags are specifically intended for mass adoption across the global retail and goods transportation sectors and have been developed in standardized form utilizing chips developed by Inpinj-Zuma, Philips, ST Micro, and Texas Instruments. Block Shield is pleased to announce the completion of its fully automated module for manufacturing complete RFID 2nd generation inlays. This module, which is now operating at industrial scale, is capable of producing over 50 million RFID inlays per annum. It is compatible with all of the above listed industry approved and standardized chips and, combined with the Group's patented antenna technology, comprises the industry's lowest cost, complete 2nd generation inlay solution. Strategic Partnership The Group is also pleased to announce that Mu-Gahat has entered into a Strategic Agreement with Cellotape to supply complete RFID products to the retail, security and medical sectors. Cellotape has been a major supplier of labels and related products to the electronics, medical and telecoms sector since 1949 and has long standing supply agreements with, among others, Cisco Systems and Hewlett-Packard. As a result of the agreement, Cellotape together with Mu-Gahat will market and sell Block Shield's superior performing and cost effective RFID products, as licensed and manufactured by Mu-Gahat. Of particular importance to the Group is Cellotape's long established and strong presence in the global medical sector, where the expected business potential for the Group's products is estimated at over 20 million pieces per annum at premium prices, as a consequence of the superior performance requirements imposed by the medical sector. Mu-Gahat will provide additional competitive advantage when addressing these markets owing to its Native American status which enables it to provide a range of governmental, fiscal and financial incentives to its corporate customers. Additional Equipment Orders In anticipation of the need for increased production volume, Block Shield further confirms that Mu-Gahat has ordered additional manufacturing equipment from the Group on a license and royalty basis, including the newly developed pick and place module. The booking value of the orders is approximately $3 million. Mu-Gahat's requirement for greater production volume is a result of not only the establishment of its strategic agreement with Cellotape, but also the recent advancement of volume order discussions with Cellotape. Marketing Strategy Following the completion of the research and development of the RFID 2nd generation inlay manufacturing module, the Group has now initiated an intensive marketing programme to directly approach over 55,000 potential corporate users and manufacturers of 2nd generation inlays and tags. This extensive marketing exercise includes the mailing of product specifications and samples to known interested parties. Michael Fitzgerald, Chairman, commented: `In 2006 we made two key strategic decisions for the Group's emerging RFID division and it is with great pleasure that we are able to report on the progress and commercial success that they are already bringing through. The first of these decisions was to establish a license and royalty based partnership with Native American owned and operated contract manufacturer, Mu-Gahat. We took this decision to give us further competitive advantage in targeting the U.S. Federal Government and corporations that receive significant tax and other financial incentives for purchasing products from Native American suppliers. Already we are seeing the benefits of this arrangement with the rapidly advancing commercial opportunities which Mu-Gahat has developed. The second of these decisions was to increase the level of investment in research and development within the RFID Division which was reflected in our financial results for the six month period ending 31 August 2006. It is testament to this investment that we were able to so rapidly deploy our RFID 2nd generation manufacturing module and as a result develop a process capable of producing the industry's lowest cost production methodology of complete RFID inlays. I would like to thank everyone involved in both our R&D and marketing teams whose commendable efforts have brought about this recent and significant progress.' | britishbear

14/1/2007 11:06 | Me to - added some more ADA on Friday at 30.5p. Fortunately I got in just before the share price uptick after lunch. | masurenguy

13/1/2007 20:13 | The EU law comes into effect - see my post 199. | azalea
13/1/2007 17:47 | Why July ? | masurenguy
13/1/2007 17:27 | If not before, come July, BLS's profile will attract significant attention from P.I. and institutions. | azalea
13/1/2007 17:18 | Slip sliding away ! BritishBear - Have you topped up at under 110p ? | masurenguy
30/12/2006 08:48 | The key to BLS promising prospects and the very reason causing me to buy, is the EU law to be passed in July 2007 banning the use of hazardous materials in electronic equipment. This law will very quickly draw the global attention of electronics manufacturers wishing to trade with the very large, important and expanding EU community and is already evidenced by the recent contract wins for BLS technology from some of the biggest names in their respective fields. Sitting with an share price 50% below its 12 month high at a 'small change' market value of £36.6m(IC), I believe BLS future is assured just as I believe its days as an independent company are numbered! | azalea
29/12/2006 16:31 | Just read the IC article. Fair and balanced. 18.3 is quite high but I suspect BLS are still too cheap. I will look to buy again at anything less than 120 | britishbear
29/12/2006 15:57 | The IC focuses on the latest RNS whereby BLS have secured deals with blue-chips Intel and Abbotts Lab for its its elctromagnetic plating services. T & G predicts a small loss this year followed by earnings per share of 12c for 2008 followed by 21c. This puts it on a rating of 18.3 times future earnins falling to 10.3. BUY Bull Points Technology is becoming more popular Markets growing fast Legislation changes support technology Bear points R & D spending will dampen performance Recent contract win unlikely to contribute significantly to this financial year. | badday
