Victor if you want a blunt answer ignore the press (Mirror) that has come up with half a story. Funds are in place read the offer document.

The only thing stopping this deal is the AGM vote 29/09 not October as the Mirror states, this all assumes Grandtop don't issue a RNS confirming the delay which they would have too.

I take comfort from the existing directors saying their goodbye's on the official site as a sure sign.

The repeated delays regarding the takeover are worrying as it looks to me like the deal may fail. If Carson Yeung doesn't already have sufficient funds for the takeover of the club, then isn't the bid a bit premature?

Tobacco smoke hung unhealthily in the stuffy damp air.
The discolouring of the anaglyptor clad walls and cracked ceiling, coupled with the stink of the soft furnishings, bore testament to this being ever thus...
Stuttering from defeat to scrambled draw, from defeat to scrambled draw, the demise of his charges had taken its toll on the Irishman.
His pitiful head had assumed a permanently bowed aspect, his complexion, vexed, downcast and wrinkled. His narrow beady eyes, blood shot, tired and withdrawn...

Martin proceeded to unbutton his shirt, stumbled to the cabinet and poured his fourth large whiskey in an hour. He slumped back down in his flee-ridden chair.
His eyes briefly closed and his teeth briefly barred, as the fourth shot readily followed the previous three.
Some pristine, sassy bird was 'all smiles' on was Sky Sports News (the very antithesis of his sepulchral demeanor). He found the remote and used it to extinguish the torment, before letting it slip through boney figures to the litter-strewn, thread-bare, claret stained carpet.
The small relief of silence, mingled with the pressing gloom of loneliness and despair. His eye-lids grew heavy, day-light surrendered beneath the weight.

He woke with a start.
What was that? Something intangible yet monumental somewhere had happened. Martin could feel it in his brittle-bones.
Was it he or the room that was shaking?

Martin moved to the window and peered nervously through the grimey pane. The sky was eerily Royal Blue.
The shaking intensified, Martin re-coiled into his chair.
Wide-eyed now, he murmured...

"My God, They're coming..."

I see the timetable has been moved again, I suspect a little escrow agreement of £3 million could be the cause. If this is the reason well done to the BMC directors, although it is very naive of Grandtop to not realise the time and court proceedings for a takeover.

For the record most dates have been brought forward from the last delay.

tiltonboy 2 weeks is hardly a few days. I suggest people compare the timetables both before and after. In summary it means that the EGM will not happen until after the offer period.

My concern is that an offer has to be made by 01/10/09 and completed by 30/10/09, anyone with experience of takeovers and the court procedures will tell you this is cutting it fine.

If this timetable is not met then the escrow will become payable to BMC.

It has been dross for 18 months but each season I have this streak of optimism that accompanies my first visit to the hallowed turf. Saw the Man U game on TV and was pleased with what I saw so maybe it was just because it was Stoke we were up against.

Just hoping we can perform better for the next home game against the Yankee boys from the other side of the Expressway!

Interesting to note the recent (very low volume) selling at aboout 88p per share. They can't wait for the promised takeover price of £1 per share it would seem. Or perhaps they just don't trust Carson Yeung. Personally, I am holding on for the full £1 per share.

Grandtop are buying a premiership club, so the minimum they are going to accept is premiership status. Grandtop being listed in Hong Kong gives me hope that a wealthy sugar daddy from China will emerge in time.
Thank you to the Golds and Sullivan for getting us back to the top flight but lets not delude ourselves. S&Gs invested in BCFC, but have walked away with a big profit. A profit built on the dreams and high ticket prices charged to fans.
Will West Ham and Cardiff benefit from these profits.

this must be a good punt now though. upside is 35-40 p but if it doesnt happen (and yeung loses his 3m) then the downside is only about 20 p...with the chance of another suitor still possible

He may get your shares it will depend on the final % he obtains (already seen to be 79.9%), you will be entitled to the same price as the current directors (assume £1) if you hang on until the end. He may elect to keep the company listed and in which case you decide what to do with your shares.

If he obtains over a certain percentage (top of my head 95%) he could take the company private and if he reaches this level your shares will be compulsively purchased.

Personally if the offer goes in at say £1 I will sell out at around 95p (where I suspect the market will put it as soon as the offer documents arrive) and move on to other investments. This does mean forfeiting a few pence but the takeover period could take a few months, so I would rather put my money elsewhere.

Obviously all this assumes he does go ahead with the purchase.

Still trading at 64p as the deal is not definite. If you think the deal will go through then buying now would be a wise move.
