31/5/2011 10:56 | I just copied the following off the internet tenuous/ 1. Very weak or slight: "the tenuous link between interest rates and investment". 2. Very slender or fine; insubstantial: "a tenuous cloud". I may be completely wrong regarding my fears but they are quite factually based and are quite serious. I don't think they are at all tenuous. If you want a better example of tenuous, try post number 435 which uses an unreliable FD's acquisition of shares (which he might not have even paid for himself) as a reason to be bullish. Incidentally, I post here not to ramp nor to win silly battles, but to get reliable information that challanges my assumptions. So far, all I get from the bulls on this BB is ramp-ramp and statements that they are comfortable buying more shares. But the probelm still remains that revenues for the bulk of the company appear to be dead in the water. Also, the big $25 million multi-year US contract is actually MUCH smaller. It consists of a small initial phase (with much of the revenue from this phase not to be realised in the current financial year) and US government has the option of renewing/expanding the contract in future years. The headlines from the US keep talking about budget cutting. Would you be willing to issue an iron-clad guarantee that the full contract will be realised by Asterand? I hope it happens of course but I wouldn't guarantee it either. | curious

30/5/2011 18:14 | Rosy times?????? Perhaps...But that assumes they don't go out of business first. Remember - this is the same company that lost money in 4 of the last 5 years. The bank was sufficiently worried three months ago to pull the plug on a loan that had already been approved. Also, The FD has steadily been issuing rosy predictions for the past 2 years. The company lost money both times. So his vote of confidence should be taken with a spoonful of sugar Regarding the shares he just acquired. I may be wrong on this but it looks as if he might have been given those shares by the company. Perhaps some other contirbutor can take a look at the recent announcement by the company and shed some light on this issue about the FD actually putting his hand on his wallet. I think is it also interesting to note that company insiders just devalued our shares by another 2% by issuing themselves another 2.5 million shares. | curious

26/5/2011 14:56 | peter You are correct 10p is the next support level to be tested , then 8p then 7.5p then 6p if the current downtrend continues. 5p represents a major support level on the chart which I quoted simply because that would be where the share price was IF the latest red downtrend line lasts the SAME timeframe as the blue last downtrend. I see on a +ve side that latest revenues are up However in the last set of numbers turnover was up ''Asterand Plc had net income fall 27.10% from a loss of 1.63m to a larger loss of 2.07m despite a 13.92% increase in revenues from 18.71m to 21.31m. An increase in the cost of goods sold as a percentage of sales from 42.20% to 43.79% was a component in the falling net income despite rising revenues.'' My other concerns are the ATD headcount with around 90 employees This seems quite large compaired to some of it's competitors The other is the cash burn ''In 2010, cash reserves at Asterand Plc fell by 726.00k. Cash Flow from Financing totalled 2.96m or 13.91% of revenues. In addition the company used 4.89m for operations while cash from investing totalled 1.20m.'' dyor | buywell2

24/5/2011 19:35 | buywell--both of your coloured lines point at 5p. The first one was wrong, so why should the second one be right? I read it as 10p support. charts and mumbo jumbo eh! time will tell. | petersinthemarket

24/5/2011 09:41 | Swingit, just noticed the edit! Yeh, i took her there last year, first time she'd been out of her home country. Did the ole sight seeing thing around the capital, she loved it (and it stayed dry - miracle!) To be honest, i had forgotten how magnificent parts of London really are... | and then

21/5/2011 08:52 | Actually shorted this as a top at 16298 last night, after third wave and strong ND at the top, however, it went on to develop a second bout of Hidden divergence. Interestingly it didn't result in continuance, perhaps due to the strength of the Negative divergence that had formed... Its one to compare and look for in future. | and then |
