CITI recommend BUY
LONDON (ShareCast) - Self storage firm Big Yellow Group (LSE: BYG.L - news) rallied Monday after Citigroup started coverage with 'buy' advice and 600p price target.

The broker believes the shares offer an attractive proposition at current levels, with self storage providing a more defensive option in the real estate market.

This one's been quiet recently, but great update from the company on the development pipeline (see RNS). More upside here IMHO

It looks as though I have missed the boat on this one - I was looking at lunch time and wondered whether a 4% leap was enough for one day and now its up to 7%.Anybody any idea why?

Demand for BYG services is driven by the house market, with a slowdown here unsurprisingly BYG is going to take a hit. Best to watch this one from the sidelines for the foreseeable

It is only a PE of 2 on basic eps in last final accounts, before adjustment for REIT - the adjusted PE is around 50-60.

Perhaps:
A trend for rising interest rates
High price of commercial property in the UK
BYG might be overvalued when compared to peers
Yields are very low.

I am sure others can give you more reasons. See also SAFE, another storage company, as they are dropping like a stone.

I am not sure the P/E is 2 for BYG. You might need to check the P/E again.

From May's 'Company Refs', when price was 634p:-

b/ Gearing of 68.8%.
c/ Net asset value per share of 238p.
d/ Dividend yield of 1.76%.
e/ Five Directors selling recently.

Agree with Bluebell BYG are a quality outfit who will deliver in the future hence the higher rating. Hopefully the share price will get through 700p
