Well spotted dalcon1 thank you.

From Chart-Breakouts.co.uk

"Although this has already broken out we feel the stock is very cheap and in a real hot sector, our target is at least 730p and maybe alot more,it's a real uptrender this one and any pullback should be limited."

Only half a day trading left this year its a shame to have a break when there is so much interest in this share, the larger daily increases over the last few weeks have been maintained and is looking very good for the new year.
Well done to all holders :)

I don't understand the financials for BYG on the advfn website: how can their profit be twice their turnover???

Hope the directors dont take their eye off this ball ! !

They sold Edge Properties plc, in 1998 then set up big yellow they could be ready for a buy out and so concentrate on a new project?

Hope you all had a good christmas looks like the best presents are not coming from big red more like the big yellow !

Had difficulty trying to buy some more today holders are hanging on to them. If these consistent daily increases continue this share will be £8 by the end of Jan, if there was an offer being prepared for £7 they are too late and will have to dig a lot deeper in their pockets ! ;)

I love that graph - I know nothing goes up in a straight line, but that's as near as damn-it as straight a line as I've ever seen! Been holding these since £1.77

Lot of interest at the end today went in to auction! I thought it might drop with people selling off before the hols, it looks like we are in for a very good New Year! Merry Christmas to you all !

Just checked level 2 : similar pattern to yesterday's small trades, but on much smaller aggregate volume. Seems to have been traded much more actively over the last few days : even after 12.00 today !

Slinky

There have been quite a few bot-style buys (and sells) : 1.7m traded : roughly 3x the normal average. Looks like one of the larger houses building a stake for one reason or another. I agree with sam : of course a quick profit is always nice but for me this is a core long term hold and any bid now at a sensible premium to the current price would be less welcome than if this activity were on behalf of an institution building a serious long term position.

Has anybody noticed a lot of trades of 407 shares - have we got a 'bot' working away on this?

A bid if it comes at £7 would be nice for a quick profit but as this company continues to expand £7 will be reached and passed I would personally prefer a steady increase enabling me to build up a larger protected stake.

The only bid rumour was from United storage ( usa ), they bought shurgard instead.

Thanks jaykay : since someone (maybe you?) posted that a few days ago I've been watching carefully but haven't seen anything else anywhere - and volumes have been nothing out of the ordinary - so was interested in whether there is any basis of fact in 109.

The closest we have to a bid is simply rumour...

From the Independent 15/12

"The rumour of the day in the mid-caps was that Big Yellow Group, the self-storage warehouse operator, is in line for a bid from a private-equity investor that could value the shares at up to 700p each, giving the company a value of £800m. Shares in Big Yellow have more than doubled this year, and closed at 620.25p, 32p better."
