|merism: The share price is having a Price Rush!|

|hedgebetter: Treer - BET365 beat Betfair most days...
Do not believe the 5% Hype - its nonsense
Betfair are old hat..that's why their share price is shafted - as were the shareholders at the IPO. Another Goldman Sachs doing gods work moment. Although there were plenty of C level guys picking up huge amounts of nil priced options at the IPO ...to 'keep the best' - many of which have now left...the ones that remain...well go figure...|
|e-venturer: I disagree on the point of cashbacks are nothing compared to the better odds on betfair. Are you honestly telling me that betfair offer far superior prices on every selection compared to bookmakers?
I think not.
Bookmakers closing accounts or restricting bets. Betfair is depend on liquidity. Is the liquidity in every betfair market better or worse that it used to be?
There are no arbitrage opportunities with traditional bookmakers. Rubbish inplay betting offers arb opportunitieS with bookmakers. Look at the murray match against troicki. murray would be long odds with any bookmaker.
What I have tried to point out is that betfair was revolutionary in it time but traditional bookmakers have adapted and betfair is no longer a trend setter!
I value you betfair's share price along the same lines as ladbrokes or william hill. So £5 is fair value.|
|e-venturer: Betfair is losing the plot completely. Just read another case of where betfair blocked an account take out a 5 figure sum and claim its what they are entitled to in fees. PR diaster. They are lacking any intelligence at the moment. Are they trying to drive customers away?
I expect the share price to take another battering after this.|
Yes i do understand that but my point is, where is BF liability?
Punter v punter betting surley means betfair cant lose!
What effect this has on the share price is very hard to predict because nothing like this has ever come to the market before.
I have a small investment in BF more curious than anything else because i cant see the company flopping but i also struggle to see how the company can expand? Any ideas?|
|the failed investor: Some bookies offer Guaranteed prices to try and compete with Betfair, it worked.................................for a while, problem was the bookies couldn't take the pain forever, Stan James withdrew it last week.
I believe they know they're beaten, I forsee a World with no high street bookies in 10/20 years time, Betfair have the monopoly, as long as they don't get greedy and keep paying good money to the levy then the investment here is a no brainer, I wouldn't be surprised to see a £300 share price here in 5 years.
The likes of Ladbrokes will try and buy it but the business model means it doesn't need to be sold.
I don't invest in anything these days, don't need too but I know I'm right about this firm, hold on and reap the rewards.|
|midasmonkey: Any opinions as to why the share price is steadily sinking after the great start ?|
|chrisp2: 30,990 per cent is how much ADVFN reckoned the share price had risen on launch.Hell of a figure.|
