betfair grew from nothing on the back of a fantastic concept, the original founders understandly cashed in, now it has people in charge who wish to do away with the original concept, and use the customer base to challenge ladb, hills b365 and paddy, good luck to them, unless they are milking the company in some way , they havnt got a prayer, 3 years time they will be worthless

Andrew has sold 100K shares on Tue ... now has 7.1% holding. Interesting given that he is one of the largest holders and CVC has probably asked him what the hell is he thinking about the suggested T/O price. And that trade should have been reported yesterday.

CVC Capital announced over the weekend that it has held talks regarding a possible takeover offer for Betting exchange Betfair (BET). CVC Capital - the equity firm which also owns Formula One - did say that it was in discussions alongside investors such as Richard Koch, Antony Ball and others over a potential takeover approach. Betfair released a statement in response today advising shareholders to sit tight, stressing that there is no certainty that an offer will be made. The shares grew by 82.5p to 782p.

i think even they dont know the final offer yet..

edit: one thing is for sure tho... it will be above the current share price
