06/1/2011 16:05 | Looks like a fiver coming chaps. | montyhedge
06/1/2011 16:04 | Nearly went through £9 then, clearly this bear run still has momentum. I closed out half my short at £9.20 slightly earlier, but will add again if it bounces. | tabber
06/1/2011 14:51 | Nellie I wouldn't call that an upgrade. I see this falling further. | cheiftown
06/1/2011 13:22 | Broker upgrade | nellie1973
06/1/2011 11:58 | I'm short from £15 (On a march spreadbet), but wondering whether now is the time to close. You really see more downside do you ? Personally I do still think they are overvalued, but not sure if they will go much lower just yet. People will start buying them now, thinking they are good value after the massive drop. For me, the LMAX thing is a bit worrying too. Its a very crowded space, and I thought quite a confusing message for the bog standard retail customer. They must be making a loss on it, and will for some time until they have improved the platform and grown a client base. At the moment, the only real liquidity I saw was the MMs, so you arent getting better execution anyway. Presumably being an MTF, they have to publish their trading figures somewhere. Anyone know how to get hold of that? | tabber
05/1/2011 14:03 | Bear points. P/E way too high. Casino promotion run by amateurs causing untold brand damage and possible legal recourse. Business model keeps churning the "fish" at the expense of the sharp pro players. Thus they constantly need new markets to find more fish. Poor technology, constant problems of getting the live markets to download with lots of "error on page" messages. Freezing of customer accounts not new, they did this on a widespread basis in past to make customer produce KYC documentation even though its not needed for gaming operators. Their focus on calling themselves a technology company has been disasteous. It took them ages to admit that a purchase of very poor poker technolgy was not working with very low customer rentation and low player values being overlooked until the case was overwhelming. Mobile service very poor. Run by technologist not gaming/bookmaking people, which may explain much of above. My target remains 750p when i will close short. | brownie69
29/12/2010 00:25 | I think there are a number of issues that need addressing. Anyway the current pe ratio is crazy. Constant bad press is not good news. | e-venturer
29/12/2010 00:17 | Got to be long on this stock. Great model. Too many short. | rochdae
29/12/2010 00:14 | Betfair is losing the plot completely. Just read another case of where betfair blocked an account take out a 5 figure sum and claim its what they are entitled to in fees. PR diaster. They are lacking any intelligence at the moment. Are they trying to drive customers away? I expect the share price to take another battering after this. | e-venturer
21/12/2010 12:34 | it was a bad time to float with freezing weather causing havoc to their business | macca42
21/12/2010 11:59 | They certainly have great technology and dominate their chosen market. If they can keep coming up with new ways of using their technology they will do well long term. | midasmonkey
21/12/2010 11:21 | It's a long road back from them now. Give the casino fiasco who would give them a license to operate in their jurisdication. Think with the float they took their eye of what their business really is. Not even sure they deserve to lumped in with bookmakers maybe more like stockbrokers or plus markets. Therefore they are way overvalued | e-venturer

21/12/2010 11:07 | PE 25 forecast still to high, tried to float themselves as a tech company, lol never known a tech company to be affected by racing being called off because of snow. | montyhedge
21/12/2010 11:05 | Bet they wish they hadn't priced the float so agressively now, its done no good to their reputatin and has attracted a frenzy of short sharks. | midasmonkey
21/12/2010 08:47 | Holders prepare for severe kicking,!!!!! | cheiftown
20/12/2010 13:53 | And there we go. £8 next. | bonio10000
20/12/2010 09:40 | Once £10 goes, could be freefall. That will be an important barrier. | bonio10000
20/12/2010 09:32 | with a lot of sporting fixtures frozen out no wonder, | macca42
17/12/2010 23:20 | Reaches £11 and then downwards again | lennonsalive

16/12/2010 19:24 | Betfair Financial Director buys £100,000 of shares | midasmonkey
16/12/2010 18:30 | Not even sure I would buy them at £5. I just don't think they are that different to mainstream online bookies. Yet their PE is outrageous. | e-venturer
16/12/2010 08:30 | I bet you'd buy loads at 5 and then want them to go back to current levels. | midasmonkey |
