Action group web site started at

Please excuse the simplicity, I'll keep updating/increasing the content.

Any comment would be most welcome.

benjuya,

If you look at my previous post re my shareholder action group web site, you can see that I have arranged for people to contact me with their holdings and how they wish to vote (this is not for BGP though, but the idea could be the same).

With regards to contacting other shareholders, the internet (i.e. BB's) seems the most logical 1st step.

Second would be to obtain a list of ALL the shareholders from Companies house for an approx cost of £35. The Shareholders could be contacted in order of holding.

I could set up a provisional action group to gauge response over the weekend if you feel this would be worthwhile.

Please let me know.

Any other views on setting up an action group to find out what went on, and if we have any comeback ?

I can't help but be cynical about the early administration of Bioglan.

I am sure the banks were worried that if the news of the administration was leaked early then it would have given shareholders an opportunity to offload their stock, therefore reducing the amount the banks would claw back themselves.

No doubt there was some deal struck behind closed doors, which benefited all parties except the shareholders.

good idea, lets give them some hassle.im shure some part of Bioglan will be left standing so we better make shure were not totaly shafted.

benjuya,

Although I think it may be a pointless task, I would assist in setting up an action group (what does everyone else think?).

I have just done the same for Clubhaus at

Had a call from a guy at Andersen today.

His opinion is that as things stand "It is very unlikely that Shareholders will see any kind of return on this"

I'm NOT a happy bunny!

Hope he's wrong but I guess that's wishfull thinking.

Perhaps we should form an action group to confront the company with questions like "Why was the company put into administration prior to the end of February 2002 when the company had the apparent backing of the banks until 28/02/02 ... according to the company statement issued 31/01/02?"

To me this kind of thing is blatently misleading the public. I based some of my investment criteria on this info. i.e. when to sell etc.!!

Good luck all

Would thid not be potentially good news for shareholders?:

"RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (AFX) - Quintiles Transnational Corp said it has
certain assets of Bioglan Pharma PLC's US unit for around 18.5 mln stg.
As part of the agreement, Quintiles also has acquired Bioglan's rights to
certain dermatology products now on the market in the US, including the
prescription product Adoxa for the treatment of severe acne."

catapuss - the reason railtrack are recieving compensation is that the company in the end went into liquidation based on a political decision rather than an economic one (thats the official line anyway) - whereas bioglan were economically administrated, although i would very much like to be compensated i doubt very much whether such action would come to any fruition.

Railtrack shareholders are to be bailed. Good for them but as far as i'm concerned that sets a precedent and therefore all shareholders of all firms that go into suspension/liquidation should be compenstated by them. Get your emails, letters and phone calls off to Mr. Byers and our democratically? elected government.

Shortly after BGP went into administration, I emailed Andersen's asking them
what the chances were of shareholders receiving anything. The following is their
reply and the email address of the contact.

warwick.j.ley@uk.andersen.com

"Thank you for your email regarding Bioglan Pharma Plc. I confirm that David
Duggins and Ian Best were appointed Joint Administrators to the Company on 21
February 2002. At this stage, it is not possible to provide details as to what
level of return, if any, will be available to creditors or shareholders. For
email policy reasons, I would be grateful if you could provide a contact address
so we can respond to you formally."
Regards
W J Ley
for DK Duggins
Joint Administrator

I replied giving them my postal address.

What followed was a letter from Andersen's saying much the same thing as their email.
However, it went on to say that they would be publishing a creditors report in the next 3
months. It also invited me to telephone a Mr Tom King at a later date if I wished to receive
a copy of the report.

Those wanting to here from Andersen's directly, might want to follow the same procedure.

hls4me -

Of course there has been malpractise. But, proving where, when and who is a different matter. In the US (for a US company), law suits would now be underway. In the UK? No way, it is just business as normal. Note that the BGP directors absolved themselves from any responsibility at the EGM held last year (that was always their highest priority). As for the banks and the administrators? You will find that future events will now remain mostly hidden and silent. They will not give shareholders any consideration whatsoever. You do not figure in the scheme of things anymore. That is the UK way. So, you are indeed grasping at straws.
