This is not as big a deal as the share price drop suggests.

The MI will approve with conditions that BEM will happily accept.

Great opportunity earlier today at c8p. My guess is that it will open up after suspension at 10p minimum. The MI was always likely to make the final decision.

Sadly,we must presume that the CAB missive was leaking into the public domain last Friday afternoon.The company are as much in the dark as anyone else but it's extraordinary that,over the weekend,and before they released the RNS yesterday morning,Beowulf management didn't get a whiff of what whispers were doing the rounds.Someone knew on Friday afternoon.

Laponia (Lapland to you and me)is the home of the much loved Sami and their reindeer herds.It appears to me that the CAB have handed the brief back to the Mining Inspectorate with a statement to the effect that the consequences of mining at Kallak could have environmentally consequences well beyond their remit.The statement mentions Heritage sites,consequences for water supply etc etc...it's all there for the green activists to grab hold of and I can't quite see how the Mining Inspectorate can ignore the County Boards comments and rubber stamp a Kallak permit.At the very least,it seems likely that the whole process could be strung out for a few more months,years who knows.Afterall,this is what the Sami-very popular in Sweden by the way-are after.

I'm ever critical of the AIM market.It looks like the Aktie Torget is a kindred spirit.

Phew, I am actually quite relieved. Normally a suspension means certain horrible news is coming but there is still quite a bit of hope here. It seems the CAB issued their decision via public website without notifying BEM directly or in time to inform the market via a pre-open RNS.

Its not a rejection, its referral to the Mining Inspectorate. I guess this is bad given the suspension but I dont understand why. Is the Swedish Mining Inspectorate expected to be very tough on such applications?

A placing isn't likely until a decision is made on Kallak.

I think the latest concern is that the Sami are going to make a fuss and will lobby the powers that be.This price volatility,courtesy primarily of Aktie Torget,is denting credibility.
