04/8/2014 20:45 | Well these are moving up well. I suspect there is a view that trade could pick up in early 2015 as interest rates start to increase. | topvest
21/7/2014 11:52 | Well any sign of interest rates going up and more companies going into administration and this will rise strongly in my view. I'm holding until the market turns. | topvest
21/7/2014 11:23 | rise last couple of trading days but small beer compared to the fundraising at 160p a few years ago..........get to 70p im out. | finkie
05/6/2014 20:09 | Hi, Stocko*pedia did a big webinar about their StockRank system yesterday, which 300 investors tuned into live, plus more on the video of it here: Anyway, I've noticed some buying today in smaller caps with the highest StockRanks. Begbies ranks very highly with 98/100, so perhaps that might explain why some people have been buying today? Good to see it starting to come good, at long last! I still hold some. You would expect the number of insolvencies to rise at the early stages of an economic recovery, as Banks increasingly force the restructuring of zombie companies. That might be helping underlying trading at Begbies perhaps? Or investors might just be anticipating a recovery. Cheers, Paul. | paulypilot
05/6/2014 18:54 | Has this been tipped? | zoolook
05/6/2014 10:40 | Whats going on? is there life in the old dog? Has some price sensitive information been leaked (as in PURI)or are the mm's short of stock and everyone's quite happy taking divis and waiting as I am? Looking good though! | stpalm
25/3/2014 12:22 | beg need a bid from a bigger operator............ Cant make progress without as they have proven 'successfully' over the last 5 years! | finkie
11/3/2014 17:09 | quiet here given the rather encouraging signs of life from the share price | daneswooddynamo
17/12/2013 19:37 | 95k bought at 42p which is a bit of a tick up from the last year I guess.....may be someone accumulating but vague hope of getting out at a better price is probably making me say that! | finkie
11/12/2013 13:08 | Does anyone have Level 2 info? I cannot get any trades/volume to show up on my Advfn screen for today but there is an above average volume showing elsewhere. On LSE, I can see 2 trades totalling 515,000 going through at the 38p bid price and neither the bid or ask have changed all day. Looks to me like someone is willing to take anything on offer at the 38p bid price. | xdavid
11/12/2013 10:26 | Hi STEPTOE57, I meant five months from declaration (today) to payment (9th May 2014). Gostevie | gostevie63
11/12/2013 10:14 | Gostevie63 9th April to 9th May Five months? not sure how you work that one out. | steptoe57
11/12/2013 09:48 | I'm with Prop_joe here. Happy to hold and collect the dividend. I do have one small moan though. The xd date is 9th April and the payment date is 9th May. Five months between declaration and payment seems a bit excessive to me. | gostevie63
11/12/2013 09:01 | I thought the results were fine given the depressed conditions in their markets. Pleased that they seem to have 'rightsized' the main insolvency business and as and when insolvency numbers pick up, as I think they must do at some point, there should be a big impact on the bottom line. In the meantime the dividend looks safe and offers a great yield. Looks to me like they might do some redundancies in the Global Risk Partners division, but given its small size I wouldn't expect it to result in a big restructuring charge and the payback period should be short if it does happen. I'm very happy to continue to hold, collect the dividend, and wait for their markets to recover. | prop_joe
11/12/2013 08:34 | Yes, but they have traded well after a big downturn in business - well managed by them I think. At some point, insolvencies will go up again. This will then tick-up very well given it's reduced cost base. Probably another year or two of flat trading first, I would guess. Interest rates will have to rise at some point and that will benefit the business. | topvest
11/12/2013 08:25 | Poor results profit down by a third divi maintained......as economy improves there will be less cases for the buzzards to pick over surely..I'm in at around 70p by 2025 I may have got my cash back via divis.....great. | finkie
05/12/2013 22:28 | Thanks for the input finkie. It is always of value to get an alternative - and historic - view. I can understand that to get in at 160p and see the value today must be galling. I still feel that there could be sufficient work to go around to satisfy all comers, Deloitte et al included. As always, time will tell. Regards. | rotors
03/12/2013 18:41 | Hi Rotors, Thanks for the update, I'm a bit out-of-date with this one. Yes, I'm long again here, have been for a little while. It's been a disappointer in recent years, but I think there's a good business here, and it should see an upturn in business once zombie companies eventually restructure. Although it amazes me how Deloittes always seem to pick up the big insolvency cases. I wonder what they are doing to make this happen? Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
03/12/2013 18:25 | And Caledonia do not appear as a significant shareholder any more (from BEG website). "Other Significant Shareholders Allianz Global Investors, 7.04% shareholding Hof Hoorneman Bankiers, 6.60% shareholding Theodoor Gilissen, 6.24% shareholding Heronbridge, 4.10% shareholding Fortelus Capital Management LLP, 3.82% (contract for difference holding)" | rotors
03/12/2013 18:23 | Paul I understood the Caledonia stake had been cleared some time ago. And these appear to be 'buys'? See you are long BEG again? Rgds. | rotors
03/12/2013 17:26 | Hopefully that might be the overhang clearing? I think it was Caledonia who were gradually exiting, from memory? P. | paulypilot
03/12/2013 16:45 | Promising sign that someone is willing to take such a large quantity of stock at over 39p. It will be interesting to see what RNS's announcing changes in stakes are issued over the next few days. | c1d
03/12/2013 16:35 | Big trade today... 16:27 - 03/12 Buy 2490245 39.24p £977,197.04 EDIT In fact loads of stock going thru. Just pre-close: volume of 8,743,398 | rotors |
