|dusseldorf: Well, fat lady is having her glass of water and waiting in the wings.
Any offer would be 'substantially below' current share price - if not accepted by end March the company runs out of cash. They are over a barrel and there's a big man with a very large hot poker aimed at the nether regions.
Not going to give an estimate but 'substantially' normally means at least 50% below. Good luck to anyone left holding|
|bikwik: The point is ....is that anyone who buys this stock risks losing their entire investment as there is clearly a high risk (supported by the view of KPMG) and highlighted by the massive decline in share price that the recivers will be called in!!|
|bikwik: Personally i think there is a high risk that this goes into administration.
The problem is cash flow. They need the continued support of their bankers. So far they still have this......though in the current enviroment??
They need a steady stream of small to med size orders, rather than the occasional sporadic larger one.
Also, their accountants KPMG...have stated for the 2nd time that their is "significant doubt on the Groups ability to continue as a going concern".
They are supposedly in talks with certain parties which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company. However, this has been going on at least since 13 July (if not before). This suggests that whoever these people are have already walked away. The share price is at all-time lows and is either a complete bargain or is telling a story.....ie this is going under. Take your pick.|
|gingerplant: Third quarter results look good to me, though they're (understandably...) worded like a company negotiating its sale.
The Company announces a return to profit (before amortisation charges) for the
third quarter of 2007. Third quarter revenues were £2.2m, gross margin for the period was 49%.
In addition to sales for the 9 month period to 30 September of £4.1m, the Group ends the third quarter with an order book of £1.8m. Pre-tax profit (before amortisation and exceptional charges) for the period was £17k (Q2 2007: £1.0m loss; Q3 2006: £1.3m loss).
"With advances in throughput, the acceptance of X-Ray metrology is gaining ground..."
"Full management attention is focused on rolling out the Company's new High
Throughput Performance Platform addressing the X-Ray fluorescent and X-Ray
Reflection markets and initial reactions to the Platform's performance from the
customer base have been positive...The Company is greatly encouraged by customer responses to its new product offerings and looks forward to building on these early successes.
"The Company reiterates its statement of 13 July confirming that discussions with certain parties are ongoing which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the Company."
Given the net current assets of £4.43m, no other debt, property, plant & equip't of £1.88m and ?? how much for the goodwill - they have intangibles at £3.5m so let's use that, then surely this deserves to get taken out at around £8-9m IF it happens, equating to a share price of 9-10p. The problem is, there's no way it will go at that price IMO, more like 7p I guess, in practice? It's dragged on a long time, though, since the first announcement, so I reckon today's results are encouraging in that they don't seem overly distracted, i.e. it's excellent value at sub 6p regardless of takeover. The problem is one of constant false dawns of profitability but overall, I'm happy to see it through either way.|
|janatha: 1.Estimate - 3rd Qtr - 26 Oct - not confirmed.
2.Who knows? Only if bid is based on prospects two years out.
3.Cash is tight. If Bede had another £1-2m in bank market would relax and concentrate more on future potential:X-ray becoming metrology of choice with nodes shrinking to 45nm;Bede's tools being used in-line hopefully sometime in 2008.
I agree that Bede "has fantastic products with enormous potential".Hopefully shareholders will be patient as just one or two in-line tool orders in 2008 would transform the company and the share price would rocket.|
|mam fach: Pity market cap is too low to warrant a decent write up.We will probably have to wait for more good news and confirmation of a recovery. With a bit of luck current holders may be rewarded.News on takeover front could easily double share price.|
|johnyee7: Bede Stmnt re Share Price Movement
13 July 2007
13 July 2007
Bede plc ("Bede" or the "Company")
Statement regarding movement in share price
The Board of Bede notes the movement in the Company's share price and confirms
that it is in preliminary discussions with certain parties which may or may not
lead to an offer being made for the Company.
A further announcement will be made in due course.|
|bikwik: Slightly perplexed by share price movement.
Not surprised exactly, just perplexed.
Main problem as i see it are worries over having enough cash. Timing of
cash in from completed contracts erratic, though clearly there are outstanding and likely future contracts that will bring in the cash.
There is a thing as an overdraft. Surely they must have overdraft facilities in place to cover them when they need to cover a short fall. I have even got one of those!
So whats changed.|
|bikwik: Last comment is actually good news guys. Where would we be if we did"nt have doom mongers when the share price is at the bottom. Selling into a bag, same old story.|
|janatha: Nilip / Bikwik
Agreed. The share price dropped substantially prior to these results .
It would not be surprising to see them back at the 9-10p levels on a relief rally .|
