08/9/2015 16:38 | Just realised JD was highlighting a second contract for Celitron I thought it was the same one.... second in a week albeit with the caveat that it also is a profit sharing deal and won't impact this years financials .... still I see they are understandably disgruntled over on iii mostly with the share price which we had been assured by management would have significantly recovered by now. It appears the company is on a better footing but again from an investors point of view this has not been a pleasant ride..... | fse

08/9/2015 14:50 | Maybe we can add Celitron to the header of this thread ? The division appears to have been busy and its worth looking at the site as spekky highlights in an earlier post. | fse

08/9/2015 12:03 | Interesting read if u have time, also navigate the website to get an idea what they are about. They don't flag up any non medical apps so I'm wondering if BATM have set up a new company or are just testing the water on a bespoke basis (with agriculture). | spekky

08/9/2015 09:28 | Meat and bone meal traditionally has a significant ash content.I assume that will not be the case after ISS processing, therefore (imho), it must have higher protein/fat content.Does that constitute a unique selling point? I'd like to think so. Ultimately success comes in the good Doctors assertion that.... " these projects are at the forefront of the industry and will be watched closely by food producers across the world " Hopefully the first deal outside Israel will be big enough to convince the market. | spekky
08/9/2015 07:45 | Pathogenic Waste Treatment and Sterilisation unit to supply leading food group with ISS-based solution for cattle farming BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LSE: BVC), a leading provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the largest and leading food group in Israel for the installation of the Group's pathogenic waste treatment and sterilisation solution for agri-business at one of the customers' cattle processing facilities. The contract, which is the Group's second major contract win in the agricultural sector for its new solution, has an initial value of approximately $0.7m, which the Group expects to recognise during 2016 and 2017. The customer provides fresh and frozen food products - such as dairy, eggs, poultry, beef, fish and pastry - primarily in Israel where it supplies approximately 18,000 customers each day. It operates from 36 sites across Israel, receiving raw materials from a network of 1,600 farmers and selling through 6,500 suppliers. BATM will install its new technology, based on its Integrated Sterilizer and Shredder ("ISS"), at a cattle processing facility where it will form a key part of the customer's waste disposal solution. The ISS will treat the byproduct of cattle processing to render it safe for disposable as well as suitable for use in producing other commercial products such as Meat and Bone Meal for animals and Meat and Bone Fat. The Group's solution will enable a significant reduction in the costs and environmental risks associated with the landfilling of waste as well as generate an additional source of revenue for the client. Under the terms of the contract, the Group will receive payment for the ISS-based units through a revenue share agreement based on the sale of the usable byproducts. The Group will treat up to 20 tonnes per day. Dr Zvi Marom, Chief Executive Officer of BATM, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by a leading food group in Israel. That it so quickly follows the launch of this solution and the award of our first major contract in the agricultural sector with a poultry farming business - both of which have occurred this year - provides further vindication of our strategy to expand the applications of our unique ISS technology beyond medical waste. We believe that these projects are at the forefront of the industry and will be watched closely by food producers across the world as our technology presents a solution to the problems of waste disposal in food processing." | dds14

07/9/2015 18:43 | Telco Systems completed a smart city project connecting 150 Louisiana schools to a 100 gigabytes broadband network Posted by Talia Rimon on September 3, 2015 Telco Systems, a BATM company, recently completed a project to build a networking communication system with a speed of up to 100 gigabytes in 150 schools and libraries in Louisiana, USA. This part of a larger-scale, US government smart cities project, known as E-Rate, designed to provide public institutions with access to broadband Internet services to transfer data at significantly high speeds. The US Congress recently announced funding for this program in the amount of $3.9 billion. “The transition to smart cities requires the installation of networks that can transmit high volumes of data at high speeds,” explains Avi Dorfman, VP R&D at Telco Systems. “The configuration and deployment of these networks must enable them to cope with high demand and increasing traffic volumes. To support this requirement, communication companies are transitioning to using switches and routers that support speeds of up to 100 gigabytes.” As part of the program implementation in Louisiana, Telco Systems designed the network in each of the 150 schools, installed the switches to operate 10,000 video lines simultaneously, and connected the schools to a central data center. Realizing the importance of affordable, high-speed Internet availability in schools and libraries, Congress and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) implemented the E-Rate program to provide discounted telecommunications, Internet access, and internal connections to eligible schools and libraries, funded by the Universal Service Fund (USF). 03/9/2015 17:01 | Celitron make the shredders/sterilizer but as yet do not have any sales into USA.You might recall that it's a Hungarian company so I view it very positively that they have convinced an Israeli company to do what is effectively a full scale trial.Agricultural firms tend to be creatures of habit but, once something is accepted (proved) they will be all over it. It's relatively new tech directed at a new application so let's give it time,I'm certain the recurring revenues will be worth more than a one off sale. The potential of this application is massive imho. | spekky
03/9/2015 16:23 | A reminder of what was said in the recent results/update about the Pathogenic waste etc... "Pathogenic Waste Treatment Sterilisation The Pathogenic Waste Treatment Sterilisation unit accounted for 14% of the Bio-Medical division's revenues in H1 2015 compared with 17% of revenues in H1 2014. The reduced revenues were as a result of contracts being signed towards the end of the first half of 2015, which will be delivered during H2 2015. The unit continues to focus on the treatment of biological waste, based on unique patented technology, including the launch of a new version of a smaller Integrated Sterilizer and Shredder ("ISS") designed for dialysis. In June 2015, the Pathogenic Waste Treatment Sterilisation unit was awarded its first significant contract for its biological waste solution for the biopharma industry, which the Group believes is the first of its kind globally. The unit received an initial order of $0.3m from the customer, which is a major manufacturer of vaccines for animal health. The first order will be installed at one of the customer's production sites in Europe this year. This project is expected to grow to $1.2m following further orders for the customer's European and US-based production sites in 2016. The Pathogenic Waste Treatment Sterilisation unit's solution will automate the safe disposal of bio-hazardous waste that is created during the manufacture of vaccines, and will enable customers to treat the waste on site, mitigating the risk of cross-contamination. The Sterilisation unit launched a unique solution, based on its patented ISS technology, for agri-business, which treats waste from poultry and larger animals such as cattle, pigs and cows. Over the last year, the solution has been tested with the relevant regulatory authorities to confirm its uniqueness and efficiency. The Group expects to receive initial orders for this solution within Q3 2015." | fse
03/9/2015 16:13 | from iii carpetbagger "In the RNS it states that it is a revenue sharing agreement so BATM only gets revenue if the by-products are sold. Not sure how they can declare this as a $1.5m order. They will have no idea how many by-products they sell. So basically BATM give the technology to the company and hope it generates some revenue. This should be declared as a joint venture with revenue potential. I can't see how the accounts can show this as an order" FSE> There is this restriction and it does state "During the first phase of the project, the Group will receive payment for the ISS-based units through a revenue share agreement based on the sale of the usable byproducts." My take on this is that its good news as its another potential revenue stream that we did not know about earlier. Its hard at the moment to quantify this but look its extra revenue and involvement ....... | fse
03/9/2015 15:09 | ...and another BATM Advanced Receives First Major Agri Sector Waste Treatment Contract By RTT News, September 03, 2015, 02:39:00 AM EDT (RTTNews.com) - BATM Advanced Communications Ltd. (BVC.L), a provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, said its Pathogenic Waste Treatment and Sterilisation unit has been awarded its first major contract in the agricultural sector from a major poultry farming company based in Israel The contract has an initial value of about $1.5 million, which the Group believes could increase to about $7.5 million over the next two years. The contract win follows the launch of the new technology solution in poultry farming, based on its Integrated Steriliser and Shredder (ISS), for agri-business in the first half of 2015. The Group will install its ISS-based technology at the customer's poultry processing site. The ISS will safely treat the byproducts of chicken processing in a more efficient manner than conventional farming methods and render it suitable for use in producing other commercial products such as Meat and Bone Meal for animals and Meat and Bone Fat. During the first phase of the project, the Group will receive payment for the ISS-based units through a revenue share agreement based on the sale of the usable byproducts. Under the terms of the contract, the Group will initially treat 10 tonnes per day - while the overall capacity of the facility is between 60-90 tonnes per day. The Group expects that, following the success of the first phase, the installation will be expanded to treat the entire capacity. 03/9/2015 07:23 | Thanks for that..... If they can get that going in the USA,with Tyson foods for example,it is going to be a big earner for us. | spekky
02/9/2015 18:47 | So far holding up well on the back of management comments and the promise to hit end of year expectations. Worth mentioning but there really is not that much stock available for investors once you allow for institutions and management share. If we see a tick up on very low volumes then it would suggest a lack of sellers. Hard to call at the moment but they are becoming a BUY for the medium term IMO. | fse
28/8/2015 16:09 | Yes Vigilant really ought to be contributing to the bottom line by now ? I believe that a lot of what they do is adaptable to smart video in so far as they have the ability to distinguish with software what is abnormal about an area under surveillance something that is not readily apparent even to a trained operator. Its all a bit scary and very Orwellian but we have this type of technology and unfortunately its needed. I don't know why BATM never reference Vigilant in any reports ... not sure what the division turns over but it can't be that insignificant.... | fse

27/8/2015 19:18 | "cumnor 24 Aug'15 - 08:26 - 13995 of 14002 1 0 Strangely, this could be blue in a few days" >cumnor..... looks like you may have called that one correctly. I could not see why people would sell on that set of results given that management have stressed once again that they will hit year end expectations and be back in profit (further currency shifts notwithstanding) Volume is low for such a large mark up which would suggest current lack of sellers? The USD is on a wicked tear at the moment the CAD$ went from around par with the USD$ to 75c in very fast order so I am honestly not querying management for highlighting the exchange woes when reporting in $USD. | fse |
