Bloke at work today seems to think that the brim full of Asher is really a joint , of splif , a Jamaican Wood-bine , Ganja , Wacky Backy , Funny-fags , a bomber or any number of other names , and the 45 , he thinks is interstate 45 .
He said , in the video , someone is smoking ,,a ,,fag and they are driving down the road singing,,,? Not to convinced !
Cornershop have there own web site on Yahoo , So I have joined , but not had time to ask the qustion yet , the question has been asked on the site a someone but I had to join to get the answer !
I'll have a go later !

LOL!!! Often the different American vowels plus American t (like d) make some ludicrous alternative meanings !!

'It's a Heartache' song sounds much more like 'a Hard Egg' !!

It sounds like , and I was singing , " the hotdogs go on ..""

P.S. I tried ASHA (rather than Asher) and that gave me a whole load of new sites, rather better ones. People use both spellings.

"Bosom for a Pillow" led to bosom-shaped pillow sites rather than what I needed !

Found amazing sites on my searching of the Web.... but no explanations.

There was a site giving other mishearings of those words - so we are not alone !!!

I conclude that those Americans really do have a different language, and we have no hope of understanding it without a serious course in Americanese.

bj444; I "attempt" to play the guitar from time to time and I get the chords and the words from GUITARETAB.COM
It's a good site for getting music , and solving "what is he singing !" questions like this.
But still no nearer the reason , Meg might have someting there!
Flange; You could be right , but in the song is spells it as Asher , would that make a difference?

I think the song refers to a cigarette ash tray moulded from an old vinyl 45.

I think Asha(or Ashia) was a very famous Bollywood singer/actress and as far as I know the song by Cornershop is about the demise of LPs and singles - replaced by CDs. Correct me if I`m wrong (quite likely).

My tentative conclusions are - Asher is possibly a brand of wooden ornaments, which they sell at a cornershop in America.

If you go onto Google , and type in "Brim full of Asher " there are a few sites on the song , not really had the chance to find out what the hell it's about , didn't get up till half Three !....scattered last night !!

In case people dont recognise it - it sounds very like "Free'em for de Basher on the 45" though that radio station could well be right... later on it sounds like "everyone needs a bosom, a bosom from below"

Someone somewhere might know the truth about this mystery ??
