PRS, In your original post your comments on the statement refered to "the dioxide risk" that seems to be the centre of Little Tykes discomfort.

'Good old Labour, huh -as usual they really thought that one through. Never mind the dioxide risk which is enough for the Dutch not to even consider open-air burning, but they didn't even stop to consider the BSE implications on the water table.

VOTE THESE GUYS OUT.

IMHO.'

Your words I believe?

Did you do your degree 15 years ago?

Spongy2: Oh yeh. Right. I can see that...duh. LOL.
Hyper : No mate - the big difference is that BSE will wipe out your lineage forever; rather than just you.

IMHO.

[Made me laugh spongy, thanks.]

Has any research been done on how long prions can survive in the soil?

I don't think we should get over worried about pits, most have been lined with clay and site investigations will have been carried out to check hydrogeology.

I'm far more concerned about animals decaying in fields, as contaminated water could run into rivers and reservoirs.

Did you know that water contaminated with spores from Bracken can cause cancer, so we could get just as worried about that.

With all these concerns with BSE, I hope you all hold PRM.

spongy2,

So you don't believe in questioning figures or caveat emptor then?

Dave,

What's all this with the PhD -v- BA nonsense? Not the usual scientists "if we knock his credentials, we'll discredit his ideas / research", is it?

Tyke - Are you taking drugs?
The "original post" is at the top of the page...
The original link is with it.
The original guy is the government top BSE man - according to the link.

Geez luise.

[It would appear - totally by coincidence - that I share the guys name (Peter Smith), but I'd have hoped a Phd was sufficient to figure that out. Follow the bloody link, never mind what I say if you don't like it, just read the bloody link.]

Poor old PRS, rattled and in a corner. Somewhat like the "Tory" party.

mtglass.
As long as they can get away with it they will keep on doing it. Putting info on labels is useless, they just print smaller and smaller labels.
Fineing them is useless, they add it on to the price.
Not voting for them is useless, you end up with even bigger fools running things.
The consumer, as usual is on a hidin to nothing.
Parliament should be downgraded/abolished, before they vote themselves their next 40% pay increase in June/july..
All serious issues should be put to the common vote on the internet.
