Jes Staley, chief executive at Barclays, has appointed C.S. Venkatakrishnan, a veteran at JPMorgan Chase & Co, to join the British bank as its chief risk officer. The announcement, which came on 29 January, is the latest in a series of new employees being hired from the American bank.

This business with Amanda Staveley is a bizarre situation, I believe the lady once ran a restaurant in Newmarket or came from a background not necessarily in finance, suing BARC for £1bln or whatever, but it is a colossal sum nonetheless, BARC. must have access to the terms of the deal, but it's a distraction, they feel they have a strong case, but she got paid a lot, how greedy can one be,deal or no deal and it would be interesting to know how she became so acquainted with the Qataris, looks like a lot of dirty laundry will be aired in court, not sure if anyone will come out of this looking too good!

My target is £2.80 and maybe £3 as the brokers have agreed.

Hopefully next week will be around 190p and maybe 200p.

Benefits are a non issue - small fry - when compared to market gains from EU. Scaremongering tactics I'm afraid. Get back to horses and guessing lol
