"Less talk Dave more action. You are spending too much time pandering to your back benchers and their EU obsessions. Think more about those who voted for you and deal with the companies and banks that rip us off day in day out."

Like I said the exercise of share options serves no purpose and is no guide to the health of a company. The directors given share say £2m in share bonuses typically over a three year performance period.

Stock options give directors the right to purchase a certain number of shares in the company at a fixed price for a given period. The purchase price is usually the market value of the stock on the date that the options are granted.

So they are only exercising their right to buy shares at the purchase price. Ideally, the market value of the stock will have increased during that period,so the directors are able to purchase shares at a significant discount.

The trick is being able decide exactly which transactions are important. And which transactions to ignore.

Nobody can predict what is doomed to fail. The owner of Jimmy Choo made £90million. She invested money in another business venture and the had to go into liquidation.

savogi,
All I am stating, money is money and directors are very shrewd with money.
They have a choice of either investing or drawing the money.

They will not stick their money in something that is doomed to fail, let alone
they know what's going in the business as they handled all the business and work out all the figures.
In that respect I think they have confidence that the Bank will deliver strong results and good growth for the coming year and beyond!

Do you accept that?
Do you agree with those points?

Make no mistake..the exercise of share options serves no purpose as a buy or sell signal as the influences behind these transactions are rarely aligned to the performance of a business.

savogi,

how about the buys In Lieu of Fees/Salary since June ranging 272p-286p.

that was money wasn't it?

it's irrelevant whether was in June or now, approximately 33,000 shares
were bought at those prices mentioned above.
That indicates confidence and strengh in the company, doesn't it?

If somehow the ftse was battered and all the stocks are down it does not mean
the Bank is doing badly?
I look forward to the next devidend increase along with my 280p rise which will
be next year likely January!
