Why are we over 3% down again when the FTSE is up? Have Jihadists entered Cork or something?

The Irish economy is strongly on the mend at present. We expect GDP growth of between 4.5 and 5 per cent this year and with positive prospects for the coming years also. We want to see the whole of Europe move onto a recovery path, and hope that Britain will continue to make itself heard as an advocate for reform and economic openness – within the European Union.

As far as the Bank of Ireland, S&P also raised its rating to A from A- on Friday. Moody’s had raised its rating on Bank of Ireland back in November, but Moody’s view on the bank’s senior debt ratings went up to Ba1 from Ba3, and its deposit ratings to Baa3 from Ba2 in the call. The point is that S&P’s view is now above that of Moody’s, at least on the surface.

Am I right in saying that this opens the door for fund managers to invest in BOI again?

Although it has shrunk from its pre-crisis size, Bank of Ireland UK has deposits of £22 billion and made operating profits of £197 million last year.

I think the sharp drop yesterday was due to the ECB's usual vague language regarding the buying or not of sovereign debt.

Why should an increase in charges, decrease the share price. Other Irish banks
will increase their charges too ! BOI is a good share to hold

interesting to see the bounce right back at .325

I think it is a confident move. How many people actually change (after the initial cribbing) banks after an increase in charges as the rest will follow suit.
