29/4/2015 11:58 | Yesterday's Q1 results press realease. Just in case you missed it: | pvb
28/4/2015 07:14 | Looks like 1st Q profits were slightly ahead of expectations: 'Madrid, April 28, 2015. Banco Santander made attributable profit of €1,717 million in the first quarter, 32% more than the same period of 2014. Of the ten core markets in which the group operates, only Chile showed a decline in profit. The strong growth was supported by the bank’s three largest markets, Spain, UK and Brazil.' I think analyst forecasts were €1,690 million. | dendria
27/4/2015 10:26 | farmsted, As I see it she wishes to go one step backwards to jump two steps forward in the banking world. She is looking to grow the bank by increasing assets whilst restraining growth of liabilities on the Balance Sheet. Perhaps through organic growth or M&A or even a combination of the two and higher reserves | acamas
27/4/2015 09:36 | Thanks for info. It seems that that since the daughter took control the share has lost upto 2% per day, I am still a suffering long holder but beginning to wonder why !!! | farmsted
23/4/2015 18:12 | Don't know as I don't have one. But I cannot see why not. I see from the pdf document on Spanish witholding tax, that the rates are on the way down. Slightly! 21% from1 January 2012 – 31 December 2014 20% from 1 January 2015 - 31 December 2016 19% effective from 1 January 2016 | pvb
23/4/2015 18:02 | Interesting, does this account let you re invest in the shares | farmsted
22/4/2015 10:06 | Future dividends are to be cash only, so no dilution of shareholdings but also no avoiding that 21% Spanish witholding tax. Just a thought - I think the witholding tax can be mitigated if you hold the shares through the Santander Shareholders Account. | pvb
22/4/2015 09:53 | I think the new CEO has dropped the amount of future divis to be paid and may have altered the way it is calculated and paid. So we may hover around here for a year or so until the banks profits climb even higher. I think she wants to retain funds in the Bank for M&A targets rather than pay high divis and extra shares We shall see how she performs. | acamas
22/4/2015 08:30 | Disppointing, down 10% for no reason other than the div. Any ideas | farmsted
21/4/2015 18:01 | Come off a big since hitting 520p | its the oxman
14/4/2015 10:49 | 'Dividend Election' - Happy reading! | pvb
14/4/2015 10:45 | maybe worth waiting to catch a lower price? if there's anything positive to come out of a grexit, other countries would not now seem to want to follow this tortorous disasterous route 21/4 475 might add a few, dyor | mike24
14/4/2015 09:05 | They announced details of the dividend yesterday and the proposed introduction of new shares towards the end of this month and into May will be reflected in today's drop in the sp, imo | acamas
14/4/2015 08:35 | Why is this 3.4% down? | hanse495
28/3/2015 05:05 | Follow the link in this RNS and you get a document from the AGM of Smurfitt Kappa Group. Bit of a screw-up. | zangdook
23/3/2015 22:40 | some serious buys today, next target 550p is the euro going to recover against other currencies other than the $ remember the NZ$ 340 to the £ zero inflation total BS, this is about joe blogs pension/savings going to ZERO through currency depreciation, even buffy sees the light, $ depreciation @ 87% since 65 did'nt santander buy the better brasilian assets of ABN and RBS ending up with troubled assets of ABN? dyor | mike24
12/3/2015 14:01 | Reports that Santander has failed the FED's stress test. The FED said its objections were made "on qualitative concerns" rather than quantitative. (Quote from City A.M.) | pvb
19/2/2015 15:18 | Holding up well given the unfolding Greek situation. BNC might not have any significant Greek interests but as Europe's largest bank it's inextricably linked to Eurozone. We'll see tomorrow. Chart was beginning to look good. | dendria
17/2/2015 16:12 | It would be daft to sell now anytime you can buy these shares below £5.50p is good value for an expanding world bank. bwdik | acamas
17/2/2015 13:53 | bnc looks A better bet than lloyds cheap euro is going to push spains recovery cheap as chips to live in there @ 134ex£ why sell? 27/2 nice boost on back of lloyds this am,fiver looks possible 6/3 BANCO bpi tells shareholdes to reject bid QE a big boost for SP´s dyor | mike24
10/2/2015 16:42 | I do not think so. I do not believe they have much involvement with Greece. | acamas
10/2/2015 12:36 | Will BNC be hit hard if the Greeks default ?? | farmsted |
