The 5 November auction ( which I didn't know about until reading above ) seems very odd. One would expect this to lower the price when it was announced and perhaps afterwards but the opposite happened.

Of course it could be that the knowledge of the possible sale of the 44,000 btc was overhanging the market and then there was relief when it was out in the open?

The closeness seems too much of a coincidence to me.

previous raise was on the eu ruling that bitcoin was a currency... at least that is what I thought.

November the 5th, they declared weeks before was their sale date. The price rose to about then and then dropped off soon after the sale. Coincidence I guess but it was noteworthy I thought.

Gold-bugs claim that the existence of 'paper gold' means there's a way to manipulate the price.

'Paper Bitcoin' could be the next piece of financial engineering. lol.

du have any stats on exchange venue volume spud? ive always favoured bitstamp as it certainly had the most volume, but i dont keep abreast of these things ive a girlfriend ;)

im still baffled theres such price discrepancies between exchanges, wheres most of the volume thesedays SPUD? bitstamp was the hub but i fail to see how they had the price at $480+ for 5 hours and most other venues didnt have it higher than $460 all day?

hard to see where this is going 500 isn't a significant price point from what I see, so i'd have to say higher (not putting money on it).

breakout from? don't really see anything... maybe a trumpet formation from oct last year (that's pushing it). it has been trading neutral from apirl/may.
