Balfour Beatty US has named Ed Prendergast, Jr. vice president of business acquisition for its Texas vertical construction operations. In this role, Prendergast will oversee client relationship management and opportunity development throughout the state of Texas. Prendergast brings to Balfour Beatty 37 years of construction industry expertise in business development, preconstruction and operations.

Prendergast rejoins Balfour Beatty in his new role after previously helping lead the company’s preconstruction services from 2000 to 2009. During that time, he helped complete some of Balfour Beatty’s most iconic Texas commercial projects, including Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Harris Methodist Hospital, One Arts Plaza, and the Gaylord Texan.

Active within the industry, Prendergast serves as board president for the ACE Mentor Program for Dallas/Fort Worth and is an AIA | TEXO leadership committee member. He is an active member of TEXO, the local chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the Associated Subcontractors Association, and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). He also is a longtime supporter of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and the American Heart Association.
