Why did the Bahamas Government, with the fuel tank running on empty in their finances, decide to hire one of the world's leading oil industry experts to negotiate a deal?

Answer – it is not because there will be a Referendum because there will not be and they are not binding under the laws of the Bahamas (or, so it seems under the laws of the UK either!!)Iit is because, as Simon Potter has said, companies are buzzing round and because the AG considers that a deal is going to go ahead. He did not say when and most people involved in multi-million deals know that often things take longer once the lawyers and accountants get involved.

Hi Cinoib, congratulations, shall I get a hat lol. I must say it's looking more stable and as the placement shares get eaten up the rise will be much more rapid. Happy with 10% daily until the big one.

People who always need to be right tend to have fragile egos. When they feel as if their self-image has been threatened, they want to make themselves look bigger or smarter, so they blame others.

It’s a coping mechanism to deal with insecurity

quick question how many shares does the ceo here have, paid at full market price, and has no options to redeem.

always a sign of a top ceo, with same viewpoint as his/her investors!

Hi tmftron
Thanks for the reply , don't let them kid you about having me on filter they can't resist looking , what they say and what they do aren't the same .
I posed a question , you have given certain scenarios all of which are possible , the point is it's now clear that some sanity and interlect might just have been reintroduced allowing other points of view that don't involve deceit, deception , and bullying from the desperate greedy , and if may say do stupid . . . .

Good luck , hope you make a decent profit in your share dealings . . . .

tmftrn do you ever buy shares in proper companies, eg one that dont dilute, have profits, have institutional investors directors that have large holding paid at full market price.

or do you target b board nanocaps for a reason??

those that do, usually have poor understanding of quality investing and have poor stock market education.imo

Hi DynamoHum,

I think the silence is largely down to the fact that a lot of people have you blocked, so they won't see your question.

Are you referring to this particular question?

"Why did the Bahamas Government take legal council about whether the exploration licence could not be renewed . . . ."

Assuming that is the case, the other potential reason no one has answered is that no one knows for sure what the answer is.

We can speculate all we want, but it is unlikely it will ever be clearly spelled out. Let us speculate any way.

I would suggest possible factors contributing to advice being sought might be one or more or all of the following...

1. They want BPC out...
1a. because they thought they could get a major in and get it all dealt with quickly.
1b. because they don't like Potter
1c. because they don't want to drill

2. They want to drill but are concerned about EA who claim they were advised there would be no drilling.

3. Maybe context is misconstrued and this is just a reference to standard due diligence?

4. Perhaps BPC had threatened to sue if the licenses were not renewed. That would prompt me to get some advice.

As I said - we don't know the answer.

You could be right, maybe they were previously running down the clock, but what we do know now is that the same people just put a whole lot of new time on that same clock and appear to be suggesting that there is now a commitment from all parties to drill.

The only thing that I am 100% on is that this remains a highly sensitive and risky investment. But, that is what makes it interesting.

One day, there will be a 7am RNS alert announcing a deal has been done with either the administrators or else a farm in partner. If the former, I'll have my usual cup of coffee and put it down to a lesson learned. If the latter I'll forgo the coffee in favour of the fizz - before then inevitably going big on UKOG, having not learned a damn thing.

Still no answer to my question ,

The license came up, it expired towards the end of last year and the question was whether or not we would extend it.

“We had a legal opinion done. It was very strongly worded and it was clear that the government was obliged to do it or incur liability for severe damages.”

Fact . . . . .

Come on never mind the 👎

Pathetic bleaters. . .
