Hoods moved up pre-market to sit off the fence, they are now not
on the bid or the offer.

Still yielding 4% at this offer price.

Some more info from their excellent website.

Our continued objective is to build the business in the UK and continental Europe in a low risk manner, generating strong cash flows and minimising residual value exposure. Through the development of its existing operations and appropriate acquisitions, the Group seeks to increase shareholder value by achieving sustained growth in profitability combined with careful risk control.

Corporate highlights

Sale of the majority of the German swapbody fleet to a German investment fund - the first contract of its type
Merger of the UK subsidiaries Trailerent, Tailored Hire and Assetcare under the Axis Intermodal brand
Restructuring creates UK and German businesses under one brand
Financial highlights

German financing transaction significantly strengthens balance sheet and substantially reduces gearing
Turnover increased by 76.4% to £9.1m (2006: £5.2m)
Profit before tax, amortisation and share based payment increased by 19% to £601,000 (2005: £505,000)
Final dividend of 0.17p which represents a total maiden dividend of 0.30p for the year
Robert Montague, Executive Chairman of Axis Intermodal, said: "Having now completed the Group restructure, we enter 2007 with tremendous opportunities and with the services and products which we believe constitute a very attractive offering to customers both in continental Europe and the UK. We have a highly experienced management team in place and with our pipeline of prospects I am confident that the Group will continue to make good progress this year.

"We remain focused on increasing profitability and shareholder value, driving our business forward through organic growth and strategic acquisitions utilising our strengthened balance sheet to develop new investment opportunities."

Axis Intermodal PLC ("Axis Intermodal" or the "Company")

Annual General Meeting Trading Statement

The Annual General Meeting of Axis Intermodal plc was held today and all
resolutions proposed were duly passed.

Robert Montague CBE, the Executive Chairman made the following statement:

"The 2006 results reflect the continued strengthening and growth of our
business. The Group, under the Axis Intermodal brand, has made further positive
progress in the first five months of 2007.

UK market conditions have continued to improve and contract hire pricing remains
very resilient. Our overall fleet of trucks and trailers has already increased
by 40% and the number of new business prospects remains healthy.

Germany performs in line with our expectations managing the swapbody fleet on a
revenue-shared basis, not only in Germany but in Switzerland, Austria, and
Benelux. The fleet has grown over 12% so far with 23 new contracts and 11 new
customers as we increase the fleet with an anticipated 1,300 new units during
2007.

Having completed the Group restructure, under the Axis brand, the Board
continues to focus on increasing profitability and shareholder value."

Morning all. Share price seems to be steady at the moment Hoods have been on the offer for weeks. Just noticed they have moved up. Now 3 bid 1 offer.

Anyone notice the 90k buy last night at the close? Thats what knocked HOODS off. Time for the next leg up soon I hope.

Back to watching paint dry looking for some volume.

I can confirm that this has bought a loss making company and will have large write downs on next years finals.

Quotes -4-All. Please understand one thing ....You do not get to me, i am intrigued at your ability to miss value in much more positive prospects, ie companies i am in..

I visited this thread to see what type of company a master stock picker like yourself might buy. I can frankly say i am disappointed. This is by no means what i had in mind as a Quotes for all perspective winner.

A director bails, they buy a business that is having severe operational and financial difficulties.

What you fail to inform potntial investors is that the cost of this mis managed acquistion will be reflected in next years results.

Ok they paid a small dividend this year and showed a small profit, but i think it will be safe to assume that next year investors can quite rightly expect a loss.

By the sounds of it this acquisition is a money pit..

The similarities between the two companies is striking.

Will quotes see sense and bail out this time?

Is AXIS INTERMODAL ANOTHER DVS?

There is no doubt that, at the time of aquisition, we underestimated the amount
of change necessary to manage this business
