22/4/2009 17:59 | Investment Week - 17/4/09: Hedge fund guru Crispin Odey says the current stock market rally could be the beginning of the bull market. Odey says he is remaining positive on banks and does not buy into the belief the latest changes are solely a bear market rally. "Opinion is divided over whether this is a bear market rally or the beginning of a new bull market. I think it has the chance to be a new bull market," Odey says in a note to clients. Odey, who owns shares in banks like Barclays, says the bull market will grow from the banking sector into other industries. He adds: "It will encompass other industries where capacity has been sufficiently reduced as to allow pricing power to come through." ===== | abc125

21/4/2009 19:18 | I'm not in love - a fibonacci retrace level hit today at 14.5p so I've added. Will you really be able to buy any volume when this goes up? And if there's a scramble to buy how much will you have to pay? What happens if you trade out is you buy a little bit back, then a bit more then by the time you add up the big spread, the dealing and how much it all cost you realise it was a lot of work for nothing. Let's see how fast it rises on the next leg up. Crispin Odey isn't trading - I bet he's making more than every trader here times 1m. As CJ might have said in Reggie Perin, 'he didn't get where he is today trading in and out like a fart in a sieve' :-) CR | cockneyrebel

20/4/2009 20:55 | BA and Avis extend partnership :: An 11 year old agreement between British Airways and Avis has been extended to cover all the airline's passengers. The previous agreement was restricted to Executive Club members. The new global five-year partnership will see the car rental company supply to all grades of traveller with the airline. Avis vehicle rental will be available through all the airline's booking channels including its website. A new 'Be There Sooner' campaign by the two brands is to be unveiled this month. As part of the new deal, Executive Club members will be offered three BA Miles per £1 spent on car hire together with a range of other loyalty enhancements. The airline's relationship marketing and insight, BA Miles director Andrea Burchett said: "Avis has delivered a fantastic service to our Executive Club members since 1998. "It was important to us that we extended this to all our customers worldwide and Avis had the capability, excellent service and the brand values to deliver that. "The partnership seemed a natural fit for us and we know the benefits to our customers will be enormous - based on just four vehicle rentals in a calendar year, you could boost your BA Miles balance by in excess of more than 10,000, which means you'll get to your desired destination sooner." Avis Europe partnerships and leisure director Julia Kemp said: ''Avis are now the sole car rental provider for British Airways customers worldwide. "The new partnership reflects our commitment to the airline and our belief in their brand values and synchronisation with our service levels. "The aim is simple; to make the travel process easier and quicker for our customers." | cockneyrebel
